Hello and welcome to LIVE updates of the 2018 French Open final between 10-time champion Rafael Nadal and the man many see as the pretender to his clay-court throne, Dominic Thiem. Can Rafa claim La Undecima or will the Austrian nicknamed the 'Dom-inator' end the world number one's remarkable run of just two career defeats at Roland Garros since his debut at the tournament in 2005? We'll find out soon enough as the players are due on Chatrier from 2pm BST.

Nadal confirming he had cramp in the hand in that third set and that it was scary.

Nadal is speaking on court. He says he played a great match but he's sure Thiem will win at RG in the next couple of years.

GAME, SET AND MATCH! - NADAL 6-4 6-3 6-2 THIEM. Rafael Nadal clinches la undecima as he serves it out on his fifth match point from deuce after an engaging two hour and 42 minute clash in his own backyard AKA Chatrier. The Spaniard now has 17 Grand Slam titles to his name and will remain world number one on Monday. The King of Clay struggled in the latter stages with a hand/arm problem, but managed to get over the line to continue his stunning run at this tournament.

BREAK! - NADAL 6-4 6-3 5-2 THIEM. Simply magnificent. Nadal claims double break point with a dropshot that's too cute for Thiem to retrieve. The world number one follows it up with some sensational angle on a crosscourt return. He will now serve for an 11th Roland Garros title.
NADAL 6-4 6-3 4-2 THIEM. No issues on the serve it seems. Rafa is hitting freely and produces a couple of sublime forehands before a dominant volley at the net secures a love hold. Nadal is two games away from the title.
NADAL 6-4 6-3 3-2 THIEM. Nadal wants the sit down so he can be treated. It's a simple hold to 15 for Thiem who will be desperate to keep this going. If it's cramp, Nadal could be in big trouble the longer this goes on.
NADAL 6-4 6-3 3-1 THIEM. After the drama, Nadal manages to hang on to consolidate and take it to 15. This match could yet have some legs in it.

Nadal looks on course for a hold at 30-0 but then sits down and gets his hand assessed. He says 'sorry, but I cannot play.' It's potentially cramp. He cannot be treated and must carry on.

BREAK! - NADAL 6-4 6-3 2-1 THIEM. Rafa makes a move from 0-30 and snares yet another break point with a crosscourt forehand winner. Thiem saves it with a bewitching drop shot but is made to fight hard from deuce. He lands a sixth ace but still can't wriggle off Rafa's hook. The forehand does all the damage in the end and the Spaniard finally batters his way to the break.
NADAL 6-4 6-3 1-1 THIEM. For the first time in the match Rafa is playing catch up at the start of a set. He fires down a double fault at 15-0 but remains unfazed as he sails through the next three points to get on the board.
NADAL 6-4 6-3 0-1 THIEM. That's a massive hold for Thiem. Rafa goes for the jugular and looks in charge at triple break point. The Austrian rallies to make deuce and then saves a fourth break opportunity before a backhand up the line gets him out of dodge.
