GAME, SET AND MATCH! - BOUCHARD 4-6 4-6 BACSINSZKY. Timea overcomes some huge wobbles to see off Bouchard at the third time of asking on serve. The Swiss looked to have capitulated once more as she fell 15-40 down, but this time the Canadian couldn't make it count and the eighth seed finally came good from deuce. A 10-game winning streak midway through the match proved crucial in the end.

BOUCHARD 4-6 4-5 BACSINSZKY. What a ridiculous shift in momentum! Bouchard claims a dominant love hold and is now within a game of parity. Timea can still serve this out though - third time lucky?

BREAK! - BOUCHARD 4-6 3-5 BACSINSZKY. Hold the phone! Bouchard isn't willing to say goodbye to France just yet. The underdog needs five BPs but eventually denies Timea once more from deuce. That's three in a row in this curious match of hot and cold patches.

BOUCHARD 4-6 2-5 BACSINSZKY. Where's this spirit and fight come from? Bouchard refuses to go out with a whimper. She started and looks to be ending this match with real aggression - but where was it for the vital middle part? Genie battles away and takes the game from deuce. The scoreline looks a tad more respectable now, but she's still got some way to go to get back into it. Timea to serve for the match for a second time next.

BREAK! - BOUCHARD 4-6 1-5 BACSINSZKY. Brilliant from Bouchard. It's come too late to change the outcome of this match, but she at least avoids the ignominy of the bagel. The 22-year-old decides she'll go down fighting and hits some ferocious shot to tee up double break point. Timea looks tight and defends a couple of blockbusters before being well and truly broken with Bouchard cannoning a winner beyond her from mid-court.

BREAK! - BOUCHARD 4-6 0-5 BACSINSZKY. It's a big fat 10 games on the spin for the eight seed who is about to bagel the Canadian. 'Genie' needs a miracle right now and she's all out of wishes...

BOUCHARD 4-6 0-4 BACSINSZKY. A first ace of the match clinches the game to 30 and sees the Swiss notch up a ninth straight game. The double break is consolidated and there is no way back for Bouchard now.

BREAK! - BOUCHARD 4-6 0-3 BACSINSZKY. Just the eight games in a row for Timea now. Bouchard looks resigned to her fate. She can only look on gloomily as her opponent lashes winner off either side. This could be done very soon from this juncture.

BOUCHARD 4-6 0-2 BACSINSZKY. Timea looks a cut above now. Bouchard benefits from some errors from the Swiss to get closer at 40-30 but can't do enough to break back. The number eight seed consolidates and looks on course for round three.

BREAK! - BOUCHARD 4-6 0-1 BACSINSZKY. It's not looking good for Bouchard. A confident start was needed but she delivers the complete opposite. Timea is in the groove and ruthlessly breaks to love to take an immediate advantage in the second set.

SET! - BOUCHARD 4-6 BACSINSZKY. Bouchard had a very good 10 minutes but has been blown away in the last 29. Timea has found her feet and turned it around in style. Five games in a row and she seals the set to 15 with superb drive volley and a probing first serve Bouchard prods helplessly into the net. The Canadian needs to regroup - and fast.

BREAK! - BOUCHARD 4-5 BACSINSZKY. The number eight seed is doing some serious damage on the backhand but Bouchard keeps playing to it. In the end, it costs the Canadian once more as Timea lashes a sublime winner into the right-hand channel she is facing to make it four in a row. She will now serve for the set.

BOUCHARD 4-4 BACSINSZKY. All square. Timea has found her mojo and clinches the game to 15 with a disguised crosscourt dropshot at the net to outfox Genie. The Swiss will fancy herself to take the set from here.

BREAK! - BOUCHARD 4-3 BACSINSZKY. The Swiss seed's timing is back. She attacks the Bouchard serve and unloads some big forehands on her way to a break to 15. There's a clear shift here. Bouchard's early dominance has gone.

BOUCHARD 4-2 BACSINSZKY. Another hard-hitting game from both ends of the court. Bouchard has a glimmer of hope at 30-30 but is shut down by her own errors as she slaps a timid return into the net.
