Magnificent Muguruza!

GAME, SET AND MATCH!- WILLIAMS 5-7 4-6 MUGURUZA. It's a maiden Grand Slam title for Garbine. She brilliantly lobs Serena to finish the match on triple championship point. She looks stunned and can't quite believe it. It's a deserved victory in a high-calibre match that lasted one hour and 43 minutes. The 22-year-old has a big future ahead of her, while Williams must wait a little longer to equal Graf's haul of 22 Grand Slam titles.

Williams eventually holds and Muguruza needs to keep her nerve and focus here; she's serving for the title next...

WILLIAMS 5-7 2-4 MUGURUZA. The Spaniard shrugs off another double fault on the first point of the game, producing a bold second serve to make 15-15 before racing away to keep her advantage intact. The title is two games away. Can she hold her nerve and keep an increasingly desperate Serena at bay?

WILLIAMS 5-7 1-3 MUGURUZA. The fourth seed consolidates to 30. Serena needs to start the familiar charge now or her dream of GS title 22 will be put on ice for today.

Lots of talk about Serena being better today and the injury, but it's fair to say Garbine has been the better player so far. In fact, she's been her own worst enemy at times after riding the fast start from the world number one.
