A forehand winner to wrong-foot Rogers seals a love hold and the match for the fourth seed who is delighted to reach her first Roland Garros semi final. The Spaniard clinched victory in one hour and 19 minutes against an opponent who will be pleased with her impact in Paris, despite seeing her fairytale run come to an end.

BREAK! - MUGURUZA 5-5 ROGERS. So close for the American - and yet so far away. She serves at 40-30 and set point but is overpowered by the Spaniard who combines hard-hitting with some fine drive volleys to break back at the best possible moment.
