Hello and welcome to live updates of the 2019 French Open third round clash between 2016 Roland Garros champion, Garbine Muguruza and Ukrainian No.9 seed, Elina Svitolina. The players are due on Chatrier following the completion of the match between Pouille and Klizan.

GAME, SET AND MATCH! - SVITOLINA 3-6 3-6 MUGURUZA. The Spanish No.19 seed ousts the No.9 seed in one hour and 28 minutes. She serves out on her second match point and will now face Sloane Stephens or Polona Hercog in round four.

BREAK! - SVITOLINA 3-6 3-5 MUGURUZA. It's looking bleak for Svitolina. She's struggled to do any damage with her serve in this match. Muguruza's power on the return has too often put her on the back foot. She struggles again here, and Garbi snares another break. She will now serve for the match.

SVITOLINA 3-6 3-4 MUGURUZA. That's a fine service game. They've been few and far between in this match, but it's most welcome for Garbi, who edges in front as we enter the business end of the set.

BREAK! - SVITOLINA 3-6 3-3 MUGURUZA. A simple volley at the net to follow up some brutal attacking strokes snares the break right back for Muguruza. Svitolina will be annoyed with herself after working hard to put herself in a game-winning position before deuce.

BREAK! - SVITOLINA 3-6 3-2 MUGURUZA. Garbi gives herself too much to do at triple break point down and Elina secures the first break of the second set on her final chance.

SVITOLINA 3-6 2-2 MUGURUZA. That's a massive hold for Svitolina. She has plenty of opportunities to see it out but then has to fend off a couple of break points from deuce. The Ukrainian eventually strings some points together and ties it up again.

SVITOLINA 3-6 1-2 MUGURUZA. Garbi claims the first love hold of the match. What a contrast to the first set for the server!

SVITOLINA 3-6 1-1 MUGURUZA. Relief for Elina. She claims that maiden hold and no doubt ease a bit of pressure that must have been building every time she stepped to that service line.

SVITOLINA 3-6 0-1 MUGURUZA. Big pressure on Svitolina now.

Muguruza has been visibly buoyed by taking that opening set and she chalks up a rare hold to apply early scoreboard pressure in Set 2.

SET! - SVITOLINA 3-6 MUGURUZA. Garbi takes the opener after a strange 44 minute battle. Elina failed to hold serve at any point and now has it all to do to turn this around.

SVITOLINA 3-5 MUGURUZA. The No.19 seed has done it! We finally have a hold of serve as Muguruza finally digs out some decent first serves to rally from 15-30 and consolidate.

BREAK! - SVITOLINA 3-4 MUGURUZA. And.... a seventh break. Yes, SEVEN. Not one hold in this match so far. Whoever does (eventually) manage it will probably go on to take the set from here.

BREAK! - SVITOLINA 3-3 MUGURUZA. Oh Garbi. This is turning into a cracking reel for 'how not to serve on a show court.' It's sixth break in a row.

BREAK! - SVITOLINA 2-3 MUGURUZA. Make that five breaks. Svitolina can't buy a decent serve at the moment and Muguruza is stepping right in and hitting oh, so big. She takes the game to 15 and it was far too easy from Elina's point of view.

BREAK! - SVITOLINA 2-2 MUGURUZA. Garbi fends off one break point to make deuce and has chances to consolidate, but the unforced errors mount up and a backhand into the net allows Svitolina to level once more.

Four games, four breaks!

BREAK! - SVITOLINA 1-2 MUGURUZA. The Spaniard continues the streak of breaks as she goes to two on Svitolina's serve. Muguruza is attacking at every opportunity and pushing the Ukrainian on to the defensive. The former champion notches up triple break point and claims the game on the second after initially blowing a drive volley long.

BREAK! - SVITOLINA 1-1 MUGURUZA. A fine response from Svitolina as she hangs tough in the rallies and benefits from some long drives off the Garbi backhand to break at the second time of asking. All square and an intriguing start.
