She blasts one backhand down the line just wide, but then gets fortunate on her second as Halep's attempt crosscourt hits the net and bounces out.

BREAK! - HALEP 6-4 5-7 3-0 LINETTE. The No.3 seed pulls off a wonderful backhand winner up the line to move 30-40 to the good, before outlasting Linette in a bruising baseline rally to secure the double break.

HALEP 6-4 5-7 2-0 LINETTE. That purple patch has ended rather abruptly. The shots that were licking the line are starting to land out. The result? A love hold in favour of Simona. Not what the Polish underdog wanted to kick off the decider.
