Konta says that she's pleased with how she played in the wind and knew that Stephens could hit a streak at any point. I wonder if she knows quite how well she played. Extraordinary.

Konta is proud of herself, but it must be said that she played as close to perfectly as she can - she'd have beaten anyone and everyone today. In commentary, Chris Evert said it was one of the greatest performances on clay that she's ever seen. We can probably believe her.

Two points for the semi ... a big serve down the middle but it's wide... next one is in and the rally begins, but then Stephens hits a forehand winner! Or does she? The umpire comes to have a look and it's wide! Johanna Konta is into the semis, where she'll play Vondroussova or Martic. Yes please!

Konta is just having her best day, and it's fantastic to behold. She's hitting with such depth and certainty, a backhand down the line giving her 40-0. If she doesn't bottle this, it's hers - and who knows what else is too. Before this competition, Konta had never won a match on clay before, and now she's not lost a point on her serve since she served for the first set at 40-30! This is immense!

Konta again holds without serious challenge - two more of those and she's through. Stephens is struggling to get off - Konta is on her all the time, rarely giving her something to attack - it's like she's Big Mario and Stephens is Mario looking for a mushroom. She holds, but doesn't look like a player on the cusp of seizing control the match.

Stephens is now holding with ease but struggling to make an impression on Konta's serve. She's not got long to remedy the situation.

This really is remarkable. Konta has served like - that can happen - but she's been hitting lines too, and Stephens has no clue what do with her. A love hold, for seven games on the spin! She is so deep in the zone it's ridiculous.

Apologies, but technical aggravation prevented me from being here sooner. However, Johanna Konta has played pretty much perfectly so far, taking the first set 6-1 and up a break at the start of the second. Before this year, she'd never won a match at Roland Garros, but she arrived in form and has grown before our eyes, honing her own game to best inconvenience her opponents while keeping calm and maintaining focus.
