NADAL 4-6 6-3 6-4 - GAME, SET & MATCH! This time Rafa does wrap things up, DelPo going wide with a forehand down the line after running round the ball. The Spaniard falls to the floor in celebration of his record-breaking 22nd Masters title and 600th career win overall!
-
NADAL 4-6 6-3 5-4 40-15 - Rafa earns himself another two championship points with an easy backhand volley after DelPo had stopped to challenge the shot before. But Rafa's forehand had caught the line. Two more championship points for Rafa...
-
NADAL 4-6 6-3 5-4 - DelPo also saves the third with a trip into the net that forces Rafa into a defensive backhand lob attempt that drops long. From there the Argentine goes on to hold and force Rafa to serve it out, a forehand drop shot volley enough to end the game when Rafa can only return long despite a speedy run up to the net to get to the ball
-
NADAL 4-6 6-3 5-3 40-30 - DelPo saves the first with a first serve down the T that Rafa can only return into the net. And the second also goes begging for the world number five when he hits a regulation forehand long down the centre of the court. One more remains...
-
NADAL 4-6 6-3 5-3 40-0 - A double fault followed by a forehand into the net don't help DelPo's cause as Rafa quickly finds himself 0-30 up against the Argentine's serve. A blistering forehand winner down the line from Rafa comfortably beats DelPo for pace and it's three championship points for Rafa...
-
NADAL 4-6 6-3 5-3 - Rafa holds to love once again, sealing the game with a second serve ace and leaving DelPo serving to stay in the match
-
NADAL 4-6 6-3 4-3 - DelPo continues to display all his best battling attitude as he produces a great serve out wide, Rafa returning wide across court, to hold to 15 and not give this match to the Spaniard
-
NADAL 4-6 6-3 4-2 - Nadal takes another step towards his third consecutive title with a love service hold that ends when DelPo pushes his forehand long down the centre of the court. Rafa now potentially just two games away from the win.
-
NADAL 4-6 6-3 3-2 - DelPo races through a much more straight-forward hold, ending the game with an ace down the centre of the court, to send a clear signal to Rafa that he is not going away just yet

News coming out of the Miami Masters during this match is that Nadal has withdrawn from the tournament, which gets underway on Wednesday. As yet there has been no official reason for the withdrawal but it's pretty safe to say it is to give Rafa a rest after reaching four finals in four attempts since his return last month.
NADAL 4-6 6-3 3-1 - DelPo is left doubled over after another amazing defensive point from Rafa that demonstrates all his defensive prowess in spectacular fashion. DelPo ends up sending a forehand long down the centre of the court to allow Rafa to level up at 30-30, something Rafa quickly turns into a hold when he produces another great serve out wide that DelPo is unable to return in play

NADAL 4-6 6-3 2-1 - BREAK! Rafa steals another break point doing enough with a dipping forehand passing shot attempt that DelPo cannot get the ball back over the net despite getting a racquet to the ball. And, unlike the last game, Rafa does secure the break this time - whipping a forehand winner down the line to go ahead
-
NADAL 4-6 6-3 1-1 - Rafa races through a love service hold, sealing it with an ace, in just one minute and 26 seconds to put DelPo back into serve much quicker than the Argentine would have liked
-
NADAL 4-6 6-3 0-1 - Rafa quickly earns himself two early break points at the start of this final set, riffling yet another forehand winner down the line. DelPo saves the first with an inside-out forehand winner which he lands right on the sideline and the second with a forehand winner. He also saves a third with another inside-out forehand winner before eventually going on to hold. That was a very important hold for DelPo to at least stall Rafa's momentum.
-
Nadal has not won a title when he dropped the first set since Roland Garros in 2006. That's almost seven years. Which is just another ridiculous stat surrounding the Spaniard!

NADAL 4-6 6-3 - SET! An ill-advised drop shot attempt from DelPo ends in the net to hand Rafa two set points. But the world number five only needs the one, firing off an ace down the centre of the court to level the match

NADAL 4-6 5-3 - BREAK! Rafa earns himself another break point with consecutive forehand winners - the first an inside-out drive volley and the second a change-of-direction shot down the line. DelPo saves it with a forehand winner of his own, across court off the shorter ball but a double fault hands Rafa a second chance and this time he does break. Again it is the forehand that does the damage, a cross court bullet getting DelPo on the back foot before a driven forehand winner from up at the net
-
NADAL 4-6 4-3 - A shorter second serve from Rafa is punished from DelPo, who moves up the court and dismissively batters a backhand return winner across court. But it's the only point the Argentine gets in the game as Rafa holds to 15 to sneak ahead for the first time in this set

NADAL 4-6 3-3 - BREAK! DelPo opens with a terrible drop shot that Rafa easily gets to. But somehow the Argentine gets away with it, getting up quickly to Rafa's return drop shot and dinking the ball across court for a forehand passing shot winner. But a double fault and a forehand error hand Rafa two break back points. The first is saved by DelPo with a cheeky angled backhand drop shot winner after a spot of serve and volley. But he gives the game away on the second with a backhand long.
