FEDERER 6-3 6-4 - GAME, SET & MATCH - Federer makes a mockery of the delay and fires down an ace out wide on the first point after the resumption of the match to seal the win and reach tomorrow's final where he will face John Isner

Match point to Federer and the rain returns! The wind is now up to about 25mph so hopefully that will blow away the shower and we'll only have a brief delay. A lengthy rally ended with a forehand into the net from Rafa to hand Fed the match point. The players have not left the court, they are just sitting back in the chairs
-
FEDERER 6-3 5-4 - A good game from Nadal, solid, as he holds to 15 when Federer sends a forehand return of serve wide. It puts the pressure back on Fed, although he will have a second chance to serve out the match after the change of ends ...

FEDERER 6-3 5-3 - BREAK - A huge forehand back behind Federer sees Nadal earn himself two break back points but he only needs the one as he rattles off an inside-out cross court forehand winner to get one of the breaks back. He will still have to serve to stay in this match though

FEDERER 6-3 5-2 - BREAK - More trouble for Nadal as he sends a backhand wide down the line to allow Federer to level up at 30-30 before yet another error from the Spaniard gifts Fed a break point for the double break. And sure enough, as has been the pattern in this match, Federer takes advantage, pushing Nadal wide on the backhand wing; the Spaniard sending his cross court backhand wide. Fed will serve for the match after the change of ends ...
-
FEDERER 6-3 4-2 - Another couple of missed forehands early on help Nadal push for the break back at deuce. But in the end the forehand returns for Fed as he finds enough on it to draw the return into the net from Rafa and maintain his break advantage
-
FEDERER 6-3 3-2 - Just brutal from Federer as he steps up to a shorter ball on two consecutive points to rattle off forehand winners across court. It brings up another break point although he pulls the trigger too early on his next big forehand to squander the chance and Rafa recovers to hold when a cross court forehand from Fed drifts just wide
-
FEDERER 6-3 3-1 - Fed holds to love to consolidate the break and sneak a step closer to tomorrow's final against Isner. The crowd respond though and attempt to lift Rafa, they do not want this match to be over in straight sets

FEDERER 6-3 2-1 - BREAK - Rafa is really not dealing with the swirling wind very well as a double fault hands Fed three more break points. And sure enough he does break to love when Rafa sends a fairly tame backhand into the net, although a blistering forehand winner down the line from Fed was what set those couple of points up
-
FEDERER 6-3 1-1 - Federer comes back out to hold without any difficulty, an athletic backhand volley earning him game points before a Rafa error hands him the game

The match is halted briefly with Federer serving as a few spots of rain start to fall. But it is only a few spots and the players just head back to their chairs for a few minutes before heading back to resume the match
-
FEDERER 6-3 0-1 - Nadal opens the second set with a forehand volley winner that he has to crouch down low to play, and he goes on to post a comfortable service hold to open the second set when Fed sends a forehand long down the centre of the court

FEDERER 6-3 - SET - A flicked backhand winner across court on an acute angle brings up three set points for Federer. But only one is needed as he drop-shots Nadal, off the backhand wing, on the next point. Fed has the first set

FEDERER 5-3 - BREAK - The wind has really picked up in the last five minutes or so but at the moment the rain is holding off. Federer earns himself another break point by going back behind Nadal once again before rushing Rafa out of the subsequent point and drawing a forehand error into the net. Fed will serve for the first set next
-
FEDERER 4-3 - The easiest service game of the match so far for either player goes the way of Fed as he holds to love with a solid first serve that Nadal can only return long. It puts an end to Nadal's run of three straight games as well
-
FEDERER 3-3 - Federer gets himself in a promising position to sneak in front again at deuce before Nadal finds a series of huge forehands, first drawing the forehand long from Fed to get the advantage before sealing a hold with a booming one-two punch of down the line followed by across court. Things are back all square now ...

FEDERER 3-2 - BREAK - A backhand exchange between the two ends in a Federer mis-hit, the world number three sending the ball long of the baseline to hand Nadal a break back point. And he keeps the pressure firmly on, drawing a backhand into the net from Fed, to get things back on serve, albeit with Nadal still trailing
-
FEDERER 3-1 - Nadal finally gets off the mark as he reverts to a tried and tested tactic against Fed, going hard and deep into he Swiss player's forehand wing
-
FEDERER 3-0 - Just as Nadal is threatening to take the momentum away from Federer, the Swiss world number three comes up with a blistering forehand winner down the line to set up a game point. And it is another ferocious forehand that seals the game; Nadal this time mis-hitting, as the ball skids of the baseline, and failing to find the court

FEDERER 2-0 - BREAK - Fed comes up to the net for a high backhand volley across court that Nadal cannot return in play to push the Spaniard to deuce. Fed quickly earns himself an early break point, going back to the Rafa forehand when the Spaniard was clearly expecting the cross court shot. And sure enough, Fed gets the break with a huge forehand return followed by an off-forehand volley winner across court
