Hello and welcome to LIVE coverage of the Indian Wells women's final between world number three Maria Sharapova and world number 10 Caroline Wozniacki.

So Sharapova will leap-frog Victoria Azarenka and move up to number two in the world when the new rankings are released on Monday. Wozniacki will do the same with Sam Stosur and move from 10th to ninth

A great performance from Sharapova, who is the Indian Wells champion for the second time, following up her victory in 2006 with an emphatic win today.

SHARAPOVA 6-2 6-2 - GAME, SET & MATCH! Sharapova serves out the match to love, finishing with a huge serve down the centre of the court that a flailing Wozniacki can only return into the bottom of the net.

SHARAPOVA 6-2 5-2 - BREAK! Sharapova also squanders a third break point, a couple of points later, when she misses another cross court forehand. But the Russian gets a fourth chance and this time she does get the break, Wozniacki sending a forehand of her own long. Sharapova will serve for the match after the chance of ends.

SHARAPOVA 6-2 4-2 - Wozniacki sends a forehand long from the centre of the court down the centre of the court to hand Sharapova two more break points. And she stops on the next point, mid-point, to challenge the lack of a call on a cross court Sharapova backhand. Hawkeye confirms Wozniacki to be right, one break point saved. And she also saves the second when Sharapova sends a forehand long (again overruled by Azderacki after the lack of a call. Deuce.

SHARAPOVA 6-2 4-2 - Another series of huge forehands from Sharapova ends with a cross court forehand winner to bring up three game points. That's her 30th winner of the match (compared to just two from Wozniacki), which is incredible. And the Russian holds to love when Wozniacki sends a backhand just wide - overruled by Eva Azderacki in the chair and confirmed by hawkeye.

SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-2 - Wozniacki plays a brilliant drop shot, just inches over the net it couldn't have been much better, and yet still Sharapova gets up to the ball, gets it back and goes on to take the point on the next ball with a forehand drive volley winner. The Dane saves a break point when Sharapova goes for a barn-strorming forehand return of serve winner only to hit the ball out. And Wozniacki goes on to secure a huge hold.

SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-1 - Sharapova continues the barrage, particularly off the forehand wing, battering a winner down the line to hold once again

SHARAPOVA 6-2 2-1 - Wozniacki finally stops the run of games against her and secures a game for the first time since 3-2 in the opening set. She finds a few more first serves and it pays off, Sharapova hitting consecutive forehands into the net (one after a long rally, one as a return) to help the Dane hold

SHARAPOVA 6-2 2-0 - Sharapova races through another service hold, dropping just the one point on a double fault, to consolidate the early break in this second set

SHARAPOVA 6-2 1-0 - BREAK! A 73mph second serve from Wozniacki is returned with interest by Sharapova who quicly follows up with a cross court forehand drive volley winner to bring up yet another break point. She is left completely in control of this match after another under-pressure double fault from Wozniacki sees the Russian take her fourth consecutive game.

SHARAPOVA 6-2 - SET! Sharapova pulls her racquet up on a couple of forehands sending the ball out, as well as hitting a backhand into the net, to hand Wozniacki two break back points. The Russian saves the first with a cross court backhand winner from the centre of the court, after some immense defence, and the second with another backhand winner across court, this time from one corner to the other. An ace brings up a first set point, which she closes out with a forehand winner down the line.

SHARAPOVA 5-2 - BREAK! Sharapova crunches a forehand return over the net for a winner to put pressure on the Wozniacki serve once again. And the Dane buckles under that pressure, slapping down only her third double fault of the tournament, handing Sharapova two more break points. Once again only one is needed though, Wozniacki again hitting into the net. Sharapova will serve for this first set after the change of ends...

SHARAPOVA 4-2 - Sharapova is too good on serve as she batters down a huge first serve that Wozniacki cannot return in play. That's another hold for the Russian and maintains her break advantage.

Wozniacki, as normal, has her dad Piotr on in the change of ends after five games and he is telling her to put more spin on the ball.

SHARAPOVA 3-2 - Brilliant defence from Wozniacki and she eventually holds (at the fourth attempt) when Sharapova sends a cross court backhand just wide into the tramlines.

SHARAPOVA 3-1 - Sharapova opens the game by rattling another forehand winner down the line before her second ace of the day brings up two game points. The Russian closes out with a dipping cross court backhand that gets down so low that a stretched Wozniacki can only return it into the very bottom of the net

SHARAPOVA 2-1 - Wozniacki comes out on top of another very lengthy rally. She has to do a lot of running and a lot of defending but loops some balls back to give herself more time and eventually Sharapova hits into the net to concede the point. And Wozniacki goes on to hold when Sharapova puts another forehand into the net. The Dane is off the mark.

SHARAPOVA 2-0 - Eight of the first nine points for Sharapova as she holds to 15 with a couple more blistering forehand winners. Her only dropped point of the game came after a lenthy rally when Wozniacki held her ground on the baseline and eventually drew the forehand long from the Russian

SHARAPOVA 1-0 - BREAK! Sharapova is all over the Wozniacki serve right from the first point and earns herself three very early break points by racing into the net and battering a shoulder-height forehand volley winner across court. The Russian only needs the one though, breaking to love with an off-forehand winner across court from the baseline
