Hello and welcome to LIVE coverage from the second Madrid Masters quarter-final - this one between Japanese 14th seed Kei Nishikori and Spanish wildcard Pablo Andujar.

So, Pablo Andujar is through to face Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals of the Madrid Masters!

NISHIKORI 3-6 5-7 - GAME, SET & MATCH! Andujar saves another break back point with a great inside out forehand winner across court and then yet another with a big first serve, Nishikori sending his backhand return wide across court. Another big serve that Nishikori nets brings up match point and finally the Spaniard wraps up victory when, Nishikori slicing a backhand into the net.

NISHIKORI 3-6 5-6 - BREAK! A first break point goes astray for Andujar as he hits long, while Nishikori saves the second with a great first serve that has the Spaniard on the back-foot right from the start of the point. Nishikori can't close out the game either though, dumping a regulation forehand into the bottom of the net to end his first game point and a double fault to waste his second before Andujar re-establishes his break lead when Nishikori hits long yet again.

NISHIKORI 3-6 5-5 - BREAK! Nerves get the better of Andujar as he looks to serve out the match and a very subdued atmosphere around the arena that greets his latest forehand error to concede his serve and allow Nishikori to break back. We're back on serve in this second set.

NISHIKORI 3-6 4-5 - Nishikori races through a love service hold, sealing the game with his third ace of the evening to force Andujar to hold his nerve and serve out the match after the change of ends.

NISHIKORI 3-6 3-5 - Nishikori denies Andujar on a game point, working the Spaniard around the baseline before coming in and putting away a drive volley for a forehand winner. But an inch-perfect forehand lob from the Spaniard a couple of points later and Nishikori will have to serve to stay in this match.

NISHIKORI 3-6 3-4 - Andujar has a chance to go the double break up and does all the hard work in the point only to go for a barn-storming forehand winner, the ball catching the top of the tape and bouncing well wide. Instead Nishikori goes on to hold, and remain just the one break down, when Andujar goes long with a forehand.

NISHIKORI 3-6 2-4 - Andujar calmly goes about holding, with an ace down the centre of the court, to consolidate the break and the world number 113 is potentially just two games away now from his first Masters series semi-final.

NISHIKORI 3-6 2-3 - BREAK! Brilliant from Andujar as he draws himself up to his full height and thumps a backhand winner down the line on his way to a couple of break points. He only needs the one though as he finds another winner down the line, this time a forehand.

NISHIKORI 3-6 2-2 - Nishikori makes light work of a shorter ball from Andujar and fires it across court on the off-forehand to earn himself a break point. The Spaniard saves it with a huge first serve and then goes on to hold a couple of points later.

NISHIKORI 3-6 2-1 - Clean hitting from Nishikori as he produces a change-of-direction winner down the line off the backhand wing.

NISHIKORI 3-6 1-1 - Andujar finds himself in a potential spot of bother at 15-30 down but levels up with an inside out forehand winner before going on to hold and get his second set account off the mark.

NISHIKORI 3-6 1-0 - Nishikori gets his second set off to a great start when he holds without too much trouble.

NISHIKORI 3-6 - SET! Finally Andujar is able to capture the set but it takes an amazing peice of luck as his forehand catches the top of the tape and just drops on to Nishikori's side of the net for the perfect winner.

NISHIKORI 3-5 - Another great first serve saves it for Andujar while he also saves a sixth with a foray into the net and a backhand volley down the centre of the court after he had pulled Nishikori wide with a cross court backhand volley. Yet another break point goes begging for Nishikori when he hits into the net while Andujar also misses another chance to take the set when he hits into the net again.

NISHIKORI 3-5 - Andujar cannot take advantage of his first set point, hitting a forehand just marginally long but he quickly gets a second chance, after a warning for taking too much time between points, when Nishikori sends a wild backhand return sailing long. Again the chance goes begging, Andujar pulling his fairly regulation backhand wide across court and he hands Nishikori a fifth break chance with a backhand into the net...

NISHIKORI 3-5 - A nervy looking game from the Spaniard as he gifts Nishikori three immediate break back points. The first two go begging on forehand errors from Nishikori while Andujar saves the third with a service winner. The Spaniard saves a fourth break point a couple of points later, with a forehand winner before earning himself a set point when Nishikori hits long...

NISHIKORI 3-5 - BREAK! Andujar earns himself a break point by leaping all over a lightweight second serve from Nishikori. And the Spaniard then does break with some ferocious hitting, peppering the lines on both sides before sealing the game with an inside-out cross-court forehand winner. He will serve for the opening set after the change of ends.

NISHIKORI 3-4 - Andujar holds to love with a great change-of-direction backhand down the line that Nishikori can only send back into the bottom of the net, actually doing pretty well to get near it in the first place.

NISHIKORI 3-3 - Another solid service hold apeice from the two players, Andujar holding when Nishikori hits long before the Spaniard nets a forehand to allow his opponent to match him once more.
