Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios took questions from fans this week and discussed his potential return from knee surgery. The world No. 27 has missed all of 2023 so far as he recovers from his injury, and had hoped to get back in time for this season's Sunshine Double. However, he has said that he will not rush his recovery and is instead taking his comeback slowly.

Nick Kyrgios has revealed that he is in no hurry to return from injury after undergoing knee surgery as he provided fans with an update on his recovery via social media.
The 27-year-old Australian underwent the operation at the start of 2023, and it has led to him missing the 2023 Australian Open and more recently this year’s Indian Wells tournament.
Kyrgios had aimed to take part in both the Sunshine Double events, but ultimately had to pull out to focus on his recovery. Last year was the best showing of his professional career as he finished in the last 16 in Miami and the quarter-finals of Indian Wells.
Last year’s losing Wimbledon finalist took questions in a Q&A session with fans on Wednesday, and he was asked whether he would be fit enough to return to the court this year.
Kyrgios, currently ranked No. 27 in the world, gave little information away about his planned comeback, with his knee problem forcing him out of the Tokyo Open in October last year, which he has attempted to resolve with surgery.
"Currently taking it day by day with my knee and building up load... Trying to get back to where I was," Kyrgios stated.
At the time of the surgery, his manager Daniel Horsfall said: “The surgery was a great success.
“We couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome of it. Now we will be pushing ahead for a speedy recovery and are aiming to see everyone at Indian Wells.”
That means there is no clear route back for Kyrgios to play yet this year, having missed every potential competition so far, including the season-opening United Cup.
Renowned tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou recently rated Nick Kyrgios’ serve as the best he has ever seen on the ATP Tour.

Kyrgios has one of the most powerful serves on the ATP Tour and last season fired down 747 aces in just 47 matches.
His serve is one of his biggest weapons and was one of the reasons why Kyrgios enjoyed a career-best year in 2022, winning one singles title, the Australian Open doubles title, and reaching his first Grand Slam singles final at Wimbledon.
Serena Williams’ former coach Mouratoglou feels when it comes to serving, Kyrgios is at the top of the game.
“Kyrgios is No. 1 because players return much better today and he’s undoubtedly the current best,” Mouratoglou said on Instagram.
