GAME, SET AND MATCH FEDERER! A sublime winning smash from Federer to tie up the win. A highly impressive performance from Federer as he puts the match to bed after Troicki had saved two match points. Troicki served well, but he was helpless once the Swiss player began to read his serve. Federer will face Jo Wilfried Tsonga in the last four.
2-5
Federer all over Troicki like a rash. Drills a forehand down the centre of the court before cutting under the ball with a dropshot that leaves Troicki stranded at the back of the court. The Swiss master is one game away from the semi-finals.

BREAK TO FEDERER! It looked only a matter of time, and so it proves as Federer breaks for the first time in this set. A booming forehand proves too hot for Troicki to handle among several other decent shots. Federer rediscovering some of his best play at the right time.
2-3
Federer floats a backhand winner across court on his way to edging ahead again. No breaks of serve in this set, but no doubt who is in charge out there. Federer really showing his class at times. One break of serve will probably spell the end of this match.
2-2
Troicki follows up one or two good points with a couple of errors. From 30-0 he is forced to 30-30. A second serve is not the best before he slams a backhand into the net to give Federer a break point, but he wastes the chance by knocking a backhand long from the back of the court. Federer comes to the net to convert a winning volley to move to advantage, but Troicki snuffs it out with a smash at the net from an attempted lob. He does well to hold again.
1-2
Federer carried to 30-30 in that game, but he steels himself to win the next two points to move 2-1 ahead. Probably the closest Troicki has came to a break, but not close enough.
1-1
A blistering passing shot from Troicki helps the Serbian stave off another couple of break points. He is certainly battling hard as Federer throws in a few unforced errors to allow his opponent to escape. All square and on serve in the second set.
0-1
Federer claims the opening game of the second set with minimal fuss. He has yet to hit an ace in the match, but that is of little concern when every other aspect of his game is working so well. Off to a strong start in this set.

SET TO FEDERER! Troicki's service continues to undergo a fierce examination by Fed. Wins a couple of points, but it is not enough to halt his opponent who wraps up the set in around 30 minutes. Looks like a man in a hurry. Troicki broken twice in that set.
2-5
No sooner has Troicki reigstered a service game, Federer is off and running on his own. He moves 40-0 ahead. A Troicki winner down the line is called in before the Swiss player puts the game to bed in the next point. Federer yet to face a break point. He has only dropped a handful of points on serve in the set. All very predictable.
2-4
Solid game from Troicki there just when he needed it. Not lacking heart, but he is having to stretch every sinew just to stay alive in the rallies with Federer. He remains a break down, but that was a good hold.
1-4
Federer cements the break with some delighful play. Really moving well today and going through his full repertoire of shots with his backhand slice and forehand all working to great effect. Feel a bit sorry for Troicki out there at moment. Federer within two games of the set.

BREAK TO FEDERER! Troiki saves a fourth break point in that game as he converts a smash at the net after Federer had asked the question with a lovely sliced backhand in the previous point. Federer continues to exert the pressure and he breaks for the first time as a booming backhand followed by a thumping forehand proves too much for his opponent. Smart play by Federer.
1-2
Another game that Federer takes in dropping only one point. Looking very comfortable in these early moments. Federer, surprise, surprise, won the only previous meeting of these men when he emerged triumphant with a 7-6 7-6 victory on a hardcourt in Tokyo in 2006.
1-1
Three break points for Federer in that game, but he can't convert any of them. The Swiss player had two real chances, but he narrowly missed with groundstrokes down the line. Good hold for Serbian Troiki in his opening service game.
0-1
Impressive opening service game from Federer. Drops only one point in his first service game. Moving well early on. Looking to sharpen up after an indifferent performance by his standards in the previous round.
