So a shorter night then we might have expected but Djokovic moves in the final – some boos for Tsonga as he walks off court. Join us at 20:00 British time on Sunday for the final.

TSONGA RETIRES….there is something wrong with his arm and he said to Djokovic "I can't continue and I want to play next week" – so he is out and Djokovic goes into the final where he will meet Mardy Fish.
3-0
Well Tsonga gets to deuce for the first time despite his injury – although that was a much to do with some sloppy play from Djokovic who seemed a bit distracted – he did dig out the hold in the end. Tsonga having a discussion with the trainer now.
2-0

DJOKOVIC BREAKS!!!! Superb stuff from the Serb as he wins an epic rally and then a gem of a return helps him turn 30-15 into 30-40. Tsonga then double faults to hand Djokovic the break. The Frenchman wants a medical timeout after the game saying "I can't hit the ball" but he is going to have to wait until his turn to serve.
1-0
Djokovic holds to 30 but that is actually progress for Tsonga as he only won three points in total on the Djokovic serve in the opening set. Big service game coming up now though.

DJOKOVIC BREAKS AND TAKES THE SET….A superb return from Djokovic on the key point gets him into the point which he wins as Tsonga's backhand volley goes into the net from the middle of the court. Before that Tsonga got himself into trouble be failing to get first serves in. Ominous stuff, you feel that Tsonga kind of needed to take the first set today to have a chance.
5-4
Djokovic is having things much easier on his serve. He holds again to 15 and while he looks like he might be able to manufacture a break – Tsonga just can't get into many points on the Djokovic serve.
4-4
Tsonga does very well to get out of a 0-30 hole to win the game to 30. Djokovic slammed down his racket with frustration on one point after a forehand into the net
4-3
Djokovic in complete control on his serve so far. He bangs down an ace to clinch a hold to 15.
3-3
Once again a well timed ace from Tsonga sees him close out a game to 30. He had one delightful pick-up at the net which he turned into a causal looking drop.
3-2
Some precision stuff with the forehand from Djokovic helps him take command of the game and he takes it to 15 when Tsonga goes just wide with a cross-court forehand. Tsonga also had the saw dust out again in that game. Very humid out there so his hands must be getting sweaty.
2-2
Some wild shots from Tsonga sees him get into a 15-40 hole. He runs to his bag to rub some sawdust on his hands to improve his grip. That seems to do the trick as he wins the game with an ace but only after he had to save a third break point by pushing Djokovic all over the court after the Serb stayed in the point much longer than you would expect with some fine defensive play.
2-1
Tsonga gets the crowd going by winning a point at the net to make it 15-15 but it is the only point of the game he wins. Both men serving very well in the opening stages of this match.
1-1
Djokovic fails to get his first two first serves in but still wins the opening two points - the second after swatting away a Tsonga drop shot attempt. Tsonga can't get either of the next two first serves into play and the Serb holds to love.

Just about to get underway under the lights here in Montreal - Djokovic serving in this opener.

Tsonga moved into the final with a 6-4 6-4 win over Nicolas Almagro but did admit to feeling tired. Djokovic destroyed Gael Monfils 6-2 6-1.

The winner of this match will play Mardy Fish in the final. The American advanced into the decider after convincingly beating Janko Tipsarevic 6-3 6-4.
-
All but one of those past eight meetings have been on hard courts - the exception was this year's Wimbledon semi which Djokovic won in four sets.

It would take a brave soul to back against Djokovic of course given his amazing form this season but Tsonga actually leads the head-to-head between these players 5-3.
