NADAL 6-0, 7-5, 6-2 GASQUET
Game, set, match! An impressive performance by Nadal as he eases through to the third round. After the first set, this looked like being a wash-out, but Gasquet showed his ability, and that wonderful backhand, in the second and third sets and made life difficult for his Spanish opponent at times.

NADAL 5-2 GASQUET* (6-0, 7-5)
Nadal is now just one game away from a place in the third round. Resistance from Gasquet in that game, but it all feels a bit futile now. Victory inevitable for the legendary Spaniard.

Break! Nadal raises his focus and there's the breakthrough in this third set! Gasquet is starting to look rather weary. He has had to absorb an awful lot from the other end of the court.

NADAL 3-2 GASQUET* (6-0, 7-5)
Gasquet is doing his best to shorten the points where he can, but it's so difficult on Nadal's serve. The Spaniard rips a forehand winner past his opponent on game point. Yikes!

Great hold by Gasquet from 15-40 down. That looked like being a breakthrough moment for Nadal in this third set, but the Frenchman did well at the net for one break point and then passed Nadal cross-court for another.

Brilliant finish to the game by Nadal who slides in at the net and kills the ball dead with a volley drop shot that has Gasquet beaten. Edging closer to a place in the third round.

Lovely forehand (yes, forehand) winner from Gasquet there on game point as he gets on the board nice and early in this third set.

A strong hold by Nadal at the start of the third set. The Spaniard's serving has been good this evening and that game demonstrated that. Will Gasquet fold now that's two sets down?

NADAL 7-5 GASQUET (6-0)
Second set, Nadal! What a fantastic effort from Gasquet in that set to fight back and make it competitive, but Nadal cranks up the pressure at the right moment and that tells in the end!

Gasquet would like that one back! He had a real opportunity at 15-30, but Nadal found some good serving and won three straight points to get himself out of a spot of bother.

Gasquet levels up with a quick hold! His best service game of the match and all of a sudden this is looking much more competitive for Nadal. Some pressure on his serve now!

Back on serve! Gasquet breaks Nadal for the first time in the match, taking the third of three break points! After a very tricky start, the Frenchman has actually found a better strategy - variety! Mixing it up! More proactive!

Gasquet saves a set point and stays within touching distance in this second set, although Nadal will now serve to clinch it next. Can the Frenchman break back? He has been more competitive?

Wowee! What a winner from Nadal to clinch that game - an inside out forehand that he ran around! Gasquet had a break point there, but Nadal just upped his level that bit more.

Good hold from Gasquet. That's the best game he's played this evening. Changed it up a bit early on, went a bit shorter, came in off the baseline and also some good serving. Better!

NADAL 4-1 GASQUET* (6-0)
Nadal consolidates the break, but there is a feeling that the Spaniard's level has dropped slightly since the first set when he was utterly, utterly dominant. Bit more variety from Gasquet is maybe a factor.
