BREAK! – TSITSIPAS 3-1 MEDVEDEV. First blood, Stef! He clenches his fist in quiet delight as he steps in to wrong-foot Medvedev with a winner. The Greek turned the screw there, darting into the net to pick-up a dropshot and block a volley winner and luring a couple of errors off Daniil in some typically lengthy rallies.
TSITSIPAS 2-1 MEDVEDEV. Daniil absolutely creams a forehand up the line on the run to turn a rally right around and snatch the point. Unfortunately for him it’s his only bright moment as Tsitsipas remains unfazed and notches up another routine hold.
TSITSIPAS 1-1 MEDVEDEV. It’s equally comfortable for the Russian. He corks an awkward-looking backhand crisply up the line to take control of the contest before an error apiece concludes things. Both players have started this fully focused. They know how important it is to seize the impetus.
TSITSIPAS 1-0 MEDVEDEV. That’s a cracker to kick things off. Tsitsipas comes out on top in a pulsating rally as he sticks out a long arm to block a close-range backhand drive down the line. The Greek looks really positive and surges into the net to polish off a very handy hold to 15 with a delicate touch. The appetiser was good, now bring on the rest of the feast.
The winner of this mouthwatering clash will face Alexander Zverev in the last four.

H2H: Medvedev owns the match up with a 6-1 record. The Russian even won their only previous meeting on clay at the Monte Carlo Masters back in 2019.
