Good morning and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE coverage of the Roland Garros second round match between Jelena Ostapenko and Karolina Pliskova. It's been three years since Ostapenko pulled off one of the great shocks of the last few years by winning the French Open. On the other side of the net, former world number one and the current number two seed Pliskova will be a tough opponent. These are two streaky players and it could go either way!

OSTAPENKO 6-4, 6-2 PLISKOVA
The number two seed is out of Roland Garros. What an excellent performance from Ostapenko. The former French Open champion had a good game plan and executed it well with plenty of variety and winners. That has to be one of the best performances of the Latvian's career!

*OSTAPENKO 5-2 PLISKOVA (6-4)
It's a double break for Ostapenko and that could be as good as game, set and match. The Latvian has had too much variety for Pliskova. She takes the second break point at 30-40 with a thunderous forehand winner, but the highlight of that game was an incredible pick up at the net from Ostapenko.

Pliskova just isn't been allowed to find her rythym at the moment. It's a break to love at start of the second set. The number two seed is struggling to find her first serve, Ostapenko's defence has been excellent and the pre-match favourite isn't being allowed to dictate the contest as she would have liked.

OSTAPENKO 6-4 PLISKOVA
The Latvian clinches the first set. It's been a topsy turvy encounter so far with both players struggling to keep hold of their serve, but Ostapenko just managed to stay steadier. Pliskova gave up that game on game point with a wild inside out forehand into the tramlines and that sums up her match so far.

It's a third Ostapenko break of serve. The Latvian has the measure of the Pliskova second serve and is dropping bombs from the back of the court. She is finding incredible weight from the back of the court and Pliskova just can't cope with it on her serve at the moment.

OSTAPENKO 3-3 PLISKOVA*
Back in serve in this first set and Pliskova has found her returning game. It was a couple of thunderous returns from the number two seed that got her to deuce and Ostapenko just couldn't find her first serve as a fourth break of serve of this match was made.

Three successive breaks of serve to start this match! Ostapenko had a look at two break points, which she pushed a little hard beyond the baseline, but she takes the third one and the Latvian once again has the advantage. This match going exactly as we thought it might so far!

Indeed, there's another break of serve. There was an unforced error on the forehand side from Ostapenko and then a double fault, but Pliskova took the break point with a wonderful lob from the back of the court that just caught the baseline.

Well, that wasn't the best of starts for the number two seed. Ostapenko barely had to do anything other than keep the ball in the court, but that was enough to break Pliskova in the first game of the match. Early advantage to the Latvian, but I get the feeling this won't be the last break...

Head-to-head record between these two players.... 3-2 in favour of Pliskova. The number two seed will be the favourite here, but you never really know what you're getting from this pair.
