FEDERER 6-4 7-6(2) - GAME, SET & MATCH! A solid victory from Federer in the end as he quickly sets up four match points after the change-of-ends, only needing the one when he finds a forehand winner down the line!

FEDERER 6-4 6-6(4-2) - TIE-BREAK! Janowicz is left clutching at his right elbow after another brutally powerful serve but he stands up to Federer up at the net to get one point back before the change of ends, eventually finding the dinked backhand volley winner after a series of passing shot attempts from Fed.
-
FEDERER 6-4 6-6 - Janowicz completely crumples early in the game, slapping a tame forehand into the net before looping a forehand long to hand Federer two match points. The Pole saves the first with his fifth ace before another big serve can only be netted in return by Federer. Back to deuce. A forehand across court that Fed cannot deal with and the a forehand passing shot long by Fed and Janowicz holds to force the tie-break.
-
FEDERER 6-4 6-5 - Federer holds to 30 with a huge ace right down the centre of the court. Just moments after serving for the set, Janowicz will have to serve to stay in the match after the change of ends.

FEDERER 6-4 5-5 - BREAK! Finally Federer does break back, pushing Janowicz deep behind the baseline with a big forehand before slicing a forehand drop shot over the net and then easily putting his backhand volley across into the open court for the winner. Was that Janowicz's big chance gone?
-
FEDERER 6-4 4-5 - Janowicz saves it with a absolutely massive forehand winner drilled across court before going back to the same point and this point and this time going wide to hand Fed another chance. Again the Pole saves it, this time with an ace, but again he slaps down a double fault to hand Fed a break back point...
-
FEDERER 6-4 4-5 - A defensive forehand from Janowicz drops long of the baseline to hand Fed a small window of chance at 150-30. A great big serve from the Pole sees him level at 30-30 when Fed can only slice his backhand return wide. Janowicz wastes a first set point with a poor attempt at a sliced forehand drop shot, which he puts into the net. And a double fault hand Fed a break point...
-
FEDERER 6-4 4-5 - Federer holds despite squandering his first game point with an inside-out forehand winner well wide across court. But he gets it at the second attempt with a forehand approach shot winner and Janowicz will have to hold his nerve if he is to serve out this second set.
-
FEDERER 6-4 3-5 - Boom! Janowicz finally finds his second ace of the night to bring up three more game points and, although the next serve isn't quite an ace, it might as well be. There was no play that was coming back in play from Federer. Fed will now have to serve to stay in this second set.
-
FEDERER 6-4 3-4 - Ace number nine from Federer sees him take a 30-0 lead before another two back-to-back service winners help him also post a love service hold.
-
FEDERER 6-4 2-4 - Janowicz is showing no signs of nerves in leading this second set as he holds to love, with a second serve winner (not quite an ace as Federer gets a racquet frame to the ball)
-
FEDERER 6-4 2-3 - Federer produces his eighth ace of the evening before smacking a forehand winner down the line to hold. There was no way that one was coming back!
-
FEDERER 6-4 1-3 - Janowicz makes a trip up to the net, guesses the right direction of Fed's attempted passign shot and pushes his backhand volley down the line for a passing shot winner. From there the Pole goes on to hold and maintain his advantage in this set.
-
FEDERER 6-4 1-2 - Much better from Federer on serve as he holds without any of the drama that characterised his last game.
-
FEDERER 6-4 0-2 - Janowicz holds from a spot of pressure at 30-30 with another huge serve to consolidate the break. The Pole has only managed one ace so far in the match despite the speed and power with which he has been serving. Which says so much about Federer's return ability.
-
FEDERER 6-4 0-1 - BREAK! A great response from Janowicz after dropping that first set as he breaks with a sublime backhand lob to get this second set off to the perfect start.

Federer hit seven aces in that opening set which, apparently, makes him the fifth ATP player to ever rack up 8000 career aces. An impressive stat for anyone, let alone for someone who is more about finesse.

FEDERER 6-4 - SET! Janowicz hits into the net to hand Federer a first set point. And sure enough he takes his first chance of the match to break, hitting first into the body of the Pole up at the net and then second finding a passing shot forehand winner down the line.
-
FEDERER 5-4 - The first real test coming up for Janowicz after the change-of-ends. He will have to serve to stay in this opening set after Fed holds to love once again with four quick-fire first serves.
