Great work by Federer to pull that one out of the fire: he was a set and a break down, and staring down three break poitns deep into the final set. Huge credit to Davydenko, that was probably the we've seen him play in a couple of years. Join us tomorrow afternoon for the final, Roger Federer v Juan Martin Del Potro. See you then!

FEDERER 4-6 6-3 6-4: GAME SET AND MATCH! Federer is ruthless and desperate as he blitzes his way past Davydenko in that final game, winning to 15 thanks in main part to three stunning forehand winners.

You felt that was always coming after Davydenko blew those chances in the previous game. Federer pumps his fists and will serve for the match.

FEDERER 4-6 6-3 5-4: BREAK! Federer wins an epic point to get to 0-30, with Davydenko clumsily overhitting a drop volley. Then, on the next point the Russian goes wide to hand over three break points - and Davydenko's overdelicate drop volley on the first of them topples back on his side of the net.
-
FEDERER 4-6 6-3 4-4: From deuce Federer aces again to get to advantage, then Davydenko goes wide with a backhand return. What a chance missed for Davydenko - and what a hold for Federer, reeling off five points in a row!
-
Deuce! Federer loses his timing completely at the start of the game, with three awful errors - two easy shots wide and one long - giving up three break points! Davydenko misses the first chance as he goes wide with a forehand, chokes a backhand into the net on the next, then Federer aces to save a third! Incredible tennis!
-
FEDERER 4-6 6-3 3-4: Davydenko holds comfortably as he tightens up his shotmaking in that game, not making a single unforced error. The knee is no longer niggling him from the looks of things, and it feels like a tie-break is looming.
-
FEDERER 4-6 6-3 3-3: Davydenko overeggs a forehand trying to put a point to bed, missing by a foot when he had the court at his mercy - then the Russian can only net Federer's high-kicking serve on the next point.
-
Deuce! Federer's serve - untouchable for the last 45 minutes or so - suddenly wobbles, and before we know it Davydenko holds 0-30 against the Swiss. Fed pulls it back with a good serve, but a magical return ace gives up a break point... Saved by Federer with an stinging wide serve to set up the easiest of volley winners.
-
FEDERER 4-6 6-3 2-3: Davydenko finally has an easier service game, but only by flailing at his serve as if he's trying to remove the covering. You feel that as the match goes on Federer has to be hot favourite, but the Russian's efforts are actually pretty inspiring.
-
FEDERER 4-6 6-3 2-2: Federer's serve is untouchable once again, with Davydenko's one point in that game coming courtesy of a lone perfect forehand return
-
FEDERER 4-6 6-3 1-2: The Russian finishes off a fantastic save of serve with an awe-inspiring cross-court on the run and a perfect forehand winner that lands exactly on the inside edge of the line. He's determined not to give up hope of his best win in a couple of years.
-
Deuce! Davydenko is struggling but just won't give up: he gives up two break points, but saves both - the second with a great piece of anticipation to cut out Federer's cross-court volley. Beautiful tennis from both players.
-
FEDERER 4-6 6-3 1-1: The Swiss eases through that service game for the loss of just one point. He couldn't hit the proverbial barn door with his serve for most of the first set and a bit, but is firing it beautifully now.
-
FEDERER 4-6 6-3 0-1: Fabulous hold by the Russian! Davydenko blows his advantage with a double fault, nets on the next point to give up another break point and looks lost. But a forehand winner from nowhere saves him after an epic point, and he goes on to close the game out with a second serve ace.
-
Deuce! Davydenko's shoulders are slumping and his head is going - at 0-30 he wins a challenge, but still gets cross with the umpire who had overruled in the first place. His next backhand is slapped into the net giving up two break points. Yet he saves them both and goes to advantage!

FEDERER 4-6 6-3: SET! The Swiss legend blazes through the final game of the set with four unplayable serves. Davydenko manages to get the rim of his racquet to the first three, each time giving up easy winners, before Federer closes out the set with an ace.

FEDERER 4-6 5-3: BREAK! Federer has thrown off his earlier malaise and is now cruising in this set as he bamboozles Davydenko with some lovely shots, a perfect cross-court passing shot the pick of them. The Russian fights back to get to deuce, but misses wide with a drop volley then gets punished for a weak second serve to lose the game.
-
Davydenko has called for the trainer and is having his knee massaged - he appeared to slip while netting a backhand on that last point.
-
FEDERER 4-6 4-3: The Swiss is getting the bit between his teeth, ripping Davydenko apart with some lovely serves in that game and charging the net aggressively. Davydenko, spooked, starts making errors.
