ALL OVER! Djokovic is through! Djokovic races to three match points before he dashes to the net to convert a backhand winner at the net. He will face Roger Federer or Robin Soderling in the last four. Impressive play by the young Serbian. Always in command.
3-5
Garcia-Lopez delays the inevitable. Game goes to deuce, but the underdog keeps matters alive by displaying some fine touches. He has deftness of touch, but Djokovic has the matter in hand and a place in the semis is surely within his grasp now. He is serving for match.
2-5
Djokovic wraps up the seventh game with an ace on his second serve. We've been going for 58 minutes and the second seed is within one game of the last four. Djokovic with 70% of his first serves flying in.
2-4
Garcia-Lopez is not the world's 35th best player for nothing. Djokovic almost toying with him at times. The Spaniard having to come up with his very best shots to stay in that game. Does well to hold serve, but Djokovic remains a break up.
1-4
Garcia-Lopez came up with an outrageous winner in that game, but there is little he can do to stem the tide. Djokovic simply has too much power for him. The second seed now within two games of the last four.

BREAK TO DJOKOVIC! Djokovic holds a 3-0 lead in previous meetings between these men. His last win was a 6-4 6-4 success in Dubai earlier this year. Looks like we are heading for a repeat here. Garcia-Lopez falls three break points down. A couple of decent shots saves two of them, but a back flies wide across court and the Serbian has the break.
1-2
Djokovic with 71% of his first serves hitting the target. He is winning 76% of his points every time the first serve goes in. That tells you what Garca-Lopez is up against at the moment. Almost a constant wall of pressure.
1-1
Garcia-Lopez restores parity in the second game of the second set. Needs to keep in touch otherwise this match could quickly run away from him judging by the form Djokovic is in at the moment.
0-1
Djokovic makes a potent start to the opening set. Lopez attempts a few brave winners, but they miss their target and now the pressure is on him to hold.

FIRST SET TO DJOKOVIC! The forehand lets Lopez down and Djokovic breaks back to claim the first set. That was almost as impressive as Murray in the opening match. The second seed really looks like he is enjoying himself. A fine variety of shots on display. Moving freely with the forehand working particularly well.

A BREAK BACK FOR LOPEZ! The Spanish underdog not lacking heart. Might be too late for him in this set, but he can at least take comfort from winning that game. The problem will be holding serves against one of the best returners in the sport.

SECOND BREAK TO DJOKOVIC! Djokovic just pushes an attempted winner wide at 30-30. That was narrowly out. The scores reach 40-40 before Lopez throws in a double fault to give Djokovic another break point, which he can't convert. He gets there at the second attempt as Lopez misses a shot across court. Suddenly Djokovic is two breaks ahead. Giving his opponent short shrift at the moment.
1-4
Djokovic consolidates the break with a stylish hold on serve. Slow start by the favourite, but he really seems to be into his stride now. A bit like Murray in the first of the quarter-finals.

FIRST BREAK OF THE MATCH TO DJOKOVIC! A break to love for the Serbian player. Managed to ask a few questions of Lopez which weren't answered. The second seed applying the pressure on serve and he cuts through the Spaniard with some fine winners.
1-2
Still not a full house watching this, which is disappointing. Djokovic's serve is working a lot better in the closing part of the year. Certainly holding up better than it was around the time of Wimbledon seems to have that snap back in it. He moves 2-1 ahead.
1-1
Lopez levels with a decent enough service game. Djokovic bidding for a second straight title in China, but he will need to be wary of his opponent, who seems to be bouncing around well enough out there.
0-1
Djokovic forced to save two break points in that opening game, but he overcomes his sluggish start to hold serve. Early signs that the Spaniard is not here to make up the numbers.
