British number two Kyle Edmund overcame a nervy start to eventually ease past Jiri Vesely at the Shanghai Rolex Masters.

The 22-year-old suffered an early break in the first set before composing himself and strutting to a 6-3 6-2 success in China.
Edmund had already saved three break points in his opening service game before Vesely broke in his next, but the Czech's advantage was short-lived.
The Briton immediately took Vesely's serve back and then broke again as he claimed the first set in 38 minutes.
And in the second set Edmund flexed his muscles with some outstanding groundstrokes, again sealing back-to-back breaks to take it 6-2.
The win sets up a second-round meeting with fourth seed and Wimbledon runner-up Marin Cilic on Tuesday, when Aljaz Bedene is in first-round action against Paolo Lorenzi.
