Good afternoon and welcome to LIVE coverage of Novak Djokovic v Lukasz Kubot in the last 16 of the Swiss Indoors tournament in Basel.

GAME, SET AND MATCH DJOKOVIC! A 66th singles win of the season for the world number. All too easy for the Serbian player as Kubot empties a shot into the net before offering the handshake. Only 55 minutes on court, and all over. He plays Marco Baghdatis in the last eight.

A love service game from Kubot. One more game from him, but he is unlikely to have any mre success in this match as Djokovic comes out to serve for a 6-1 6-2 win. Surely all over bar the shouting with Djokovic having won 76% of all points on serve.

Kubot forced to go for the lines to stay active in this match. A crunching winner up the line is good enough for him to force Djokovic serve, but notmal service is resumed seconds later with the world number slashing a couple of superb points away from his opponent to move within one game of the match.

Kubot staves off losing the set to love with his best service game of the match and an admirable winning volley at the net. Has been a tough examination of Kubot's skills, but he continues to fight the good fight, even if he is heading for a pretty crushing defeat.

Djokovic coming up with all the answers even when under a bit of pressure. At 30-30, he responds with an ace out wide that Kubot can only admire as it flies beyond him. Kubot sticks a return into the net seconds later, and Djokovic is suddenly only two games short of the last eight of this tournament.

BREAK TO DJOKOVIC! There is the double break for Djokovic. This is as one-sided match as you could wish to see. Kubot has not played badly, but he is finding the movement, pace of stroke and service of the world number one too hot to handle. The Serbian with the double break as he leads 3-0, and cruising towards the last eight.

All one-way traffic. A love game from Djokovic as he moves 2-0 clear. Not much life left in this one. the Serbian player hitting the ball as sweetly as ever. Kubot will do well to snare a game in this set by the looks of things.

BREAK TO DJOKOVIC! Kubot manages to save one break point with a piercing serve out wide, but he misses the crucial first serve seconds later. They become involved in another rally, and there is only going to be one winner as Djokovic slams another super forehand winner beyond his oppoent to move ahead in the set with the break.

SET TO DJOKOVIC! Great first set from Djokovic. In little or no danger in that set with three aces hitting the mark as the world number one strolls through the patchwork defence of Kubot to move one set up.

BREAK TO DJOKOVIC! Kubot running into a few problems as a double fault sees the score reach deuce. Djokovic plays a stunning drop shot that Kubot can only knock into the net, as Djokovic brings up another break point for a 5-1 lead. Djokovic just misses a lob for the double break. He doesn't have to wait long for another chance as Kubot knocks the ball wide on the second break point with Djokovic in control of the rally.

Djokovic continues to excel in this first set, especially where he is most comfortable from the back of the court. Clubs a forehand up the line to pocket another game in which he only lost one point. Long way back for Kubot in this set, and the match has only been going for 15 minutes or so.

Djokovic reading Kubot's serve so well, and picking it off with some success. Kubot having to come up with a blistering service out wide, and superb volley to move 40-30 ahead. Djokovic knocks the ball long in a rally, and Kubot is finally on the board. His first game of the match.

Djokovic clearly a few levels above his opponent as he rattles off his second service game of the match to open up a 3-0 lead in this first set. Has only dropped two points on serve in two games. Well in control. Kubot really has to hold in this game.

BREAK TO DJOKOVIC! A big serve out wide sees Kubot save the first of two break points,. A fine return from Djokovic leaves Kubot exposed at the net, and the Serbian hammers the backhanded winner down the line for a 2-0 lead in the opening set. Fine start by Djokovic.

Decent opening service game from Djokovic. Lost the first point, but throws down an ace to quickly restore parity before going on to hold without too much fuss. Looking sharp early on.

Kubot ranked 64th in the world. Has yet to take a set off Djokovic in losing their three meetings over the past three years. Their last meeting was on clay in Rome earlier this year with Djokovic winning 6-0 6-3.

Djokovic managed to beat Belgium's Xavier Malisse in three sets on his return to action on Tuesday.
