WINNER! Djokovic drills a forehand down the line to level up at 30-30 before another ferocious forehand onto the baseline that Monfils cannot deal with brings up a first match point. And one is all that's needed as Monfils sends a forehand long of the baseline
2-5
Again Djokovic saves it when Monfils fires a forehand into the net down the line and the Serb goes on to hold to leave himself just one game away from the semi-finals. That is unless Monfils can hold once again
Ad-40
Commentators curse, much?! Djokovic sends a poor overhead well long of the baseline to hand Monfils a 0-30 lead agains his serve and, although he levels at 30-30 with the Frenchman seemingly struggling with an intercostal muscle injury, a forehand wide from Djokovic hands Monfils a break back point. It goes begging when Monfils hits a forehand into the net but he gets another chance with a backhand wide across court. Djokovic saves it again before a double fault hands Monfils a third chance
2-4
Monfils cruises through his first love service game of the match as Djokovic, who hits a forehand into the net on game point, preserves his energy for his final push
1-4
Djokovic is running away with this clash now as he holds to consolidate the break with another forehand winner. Monfils looks a little like he may he just conceded this match now, and is just going through the motions

BREAK! Djokovic lets off a massive roar as he lands a running cross court forehand winner as a passing shot to grab his first break of this third set and further extend his lead in this match
1-2
A huge second serve from Djokovic helps him seal a second serve when Monfils dumps a forehand return into the net, and that slings all the pressure back over the net at the Frenchman who has been struggling so much to hold
1-1
Djokovic is really frustrating Monfils now as he gets everything back before stepping inside the baseline to fire off a forehand winner and put some pressure on at 30-30. A forehand goes long down the line to gift Monfils a game point but Djokovic quickly recovers with a backhand drop shot followed by a deft backhand volley across court on the stretch. But Monfils recovers and goes on to hold for the first time since the first set
0-1
Djokovic holds to love for the opening game of the third set with a forehand drop shot, forehand topspin lob and blistering forehand winner across court.

Monfils saves a first set point with a lucky break on the net as the ball bounces just over, and Djjokovic squanders a second with a low forehand dribbled pactically along the ground into the net. But the Serb quickly earns himself a third go at it and this time he does wrap up the set by pushing Monfils around the baseline, before the Frenchman drops a defensive backhand wide across court.
1-5
Djokovic sends a backhand approach shot so far long of the baseline it's practically hit the back-boards and it gives Monfils another two break back points. The Frenchman slams a forehand long on the first and he hits a backhand wide into the tramlines across court. And Djokovic finds a short cross court forehand to bring up a game point before an aggressive forehand into the corner that Monfils can only return long seals the hold. Monfils will have to serve to stay in this set next

BREAK! Two break points are handed to Djokovic when Monfils sends a forehand long. The Serb squanders the first with a sliced backhand into the net. But Djokovic does restore his double break lead at the second attempt when Monfils just sends a forehand into the top of the tape and watches as it bounces back on to his side of the net

BREAK! Djokovic was lucky to get away with that, it was far closer than it needed to be, and he gives himself a talking to in between points on account of it. This is much better from Monfils as he races around the court and takes control of the point and he gets a fourth chance to break when a backhand volley across court goes wide. And this time he gets it when Djokovic skews a high off-forehand volley wide across court
40-40
Monfils does a Nadal to the baseline coming out from the change of ends, sprinting back and bouncing around on his toes. And it looks as though the positive attitude is going to work as he earns himself two break back points. But both go begging, the first with a forehand long and the second with a forehand into the net. He earns himself a third chance though when Djokovic dumps a cross court forehand volley into the net, but the Serb puts a forehand volley right on the line to save it again
0-3

BREAK! Monfils is not dealing with the conditions at all well as he continues with his passive approach to the match. He will not beat Djokovic being just getting the ball back in play, he needs to be far more aggressive. Djokovic breaks for a second time early in this second set as he fires an inside out forehand right into the corner that a scrambling Monfils can only return short of the net. Well short of the net in fact, the ball only just about lands on the service line
0-2
Djokovic is also really struggling on serve now as the wind at that end causes problems. A double from the Serb, his second of the match, hands Monfils a break back point. But Djokovic produces his first ace of the match. But a forehand volley into the net hands Monfils a second chance as the wind gets up even further and takes the ball away from the Serb on a forehand approach shot. Again Djokovic saves it though with a high forehand winner and he goes on to hold after a forehand into the net
0-1

BREAK! A forehand across court from Djokovic dies on Monfils who can only return into the net and the Serb has a third chance to break. Again he cannot take advantage as he hits a forehand wide down the line but he'll have another go after pushing a forehand into the open court down the line after a very passive point from Monfils. And this time he does get the break, when Monfils hits into the net
40-40
The wind really gets up and wreaks havoc with Monfils serve as he throws up a number of aborted ball tosses before eventually serving a double fault and handing Djokocic a break point. The Serb sends a forehand long of the baseline to waste the chance but Monfils is still struggling with that wind and an inside out forehand goes wide to offer Djokovic a second chance. But again it goes begging when Djokovic sends his forehand return of serve wide rather than forward
