GAME, SET & MATCH - MURRAY 6-2 6-3 6-3 - The two exchange rockets from the baseline before Murray's backhand proves too good for Young. The Brit double faults for the third time in the match before Young approaches the net, off a rather average approach, to drop-volley. Murray fights back with a big serve and another Young error. An ace out wide seals the match.

BREAK - MURRAY 6-2 6-3 5-3 - Young serves up a big ace before Murray rallies superbly to take a 30-15 lead. The third point of the game was an absoluet marathon, with Murray taking it in spectacular fashion - passing his opponent on the run. Two further undforced errors from Young gift Murray a break. He'll now serve for the match.
-
MURRAY 6-2 6-3 4-3 - The Scot serves well on the opening two points, not giving Young a chance to keep the ball in court. The home favourite reads the third serve and puts Murray under pressure with a huge return, forcing the World No. 4 into the net. The Brit makes an error on the backhand before young fails to keep a return in play.
-
MURRAY 6-2 6-3 3-3 - Young produces two monster first serves to set up the point. He takes a 30-0 lead with ease. Murray looks to be greasping at straws with a very, very poor attempt at a drop shot that hits the net about half-way up. The umpire then overrules Young's deep forehand, that drifts long. The unseeded American makes yet another poor error but produces an unreturned serve to take the game.

MURRAY 6-2 6-3 3-2 - Very out of sorts game from the Scot. He struggles to find his range and sends a couple of ground strokes long before over-compensating by netting a poor drop shot to allow Young in at 15-40. The American sends a forehand long before forcing Murray into the net with a superb cross-court forehand. Back on serve.

BREAK - MURRAY 6-2 6-3 3-1 - Murray is in control of the opening point but attempts a drop-volley and gets it completely wrong - allowing Young to run in a put the ball away. He won't be too happy with that. Unsurprisingly, the American produces another two errors to give Murray a sniff of a break. An entertaining but long rally ensues with Young winning the point as the Scot nets a backhand. He makes amends though, with a backhand cross-court winner. Young nets to gift Murray the break.
-
MURRAY 6-2 6-3 2-1 - The World No. 4 delivers a pinpoint serve out wide to set up a one-two to take the opening point. Young draws level with another big forehand winner. He misses with the next forehand however, trying to clean the lines again. The American's 40th unforced error sees the game at 40-15 but Murray sends a forehand long. An unreturned serve seals the game.
-
MURRAY 6-2 6-3 1-1 - Great opening few points from Murray, who picks the Young serve well and takes advantage. He's up 0-30 but the American fights back with a great smash followed by an even better inside-out forehand winner. A second smash crafts Young a game point, and it's taken with an unreturned serve out wide.
-
MURRAY 6-2 6-3 1-0 - The American starts the third set well, despite that unfortunate ending to the second. He seems to have a little more pop on his forehand and gets into a position to put away a neat stop-volley. Murray then approaches the net and forces his opponent long, but he then misses the simplest of forehands from the baseline. The Brit is back on level terms though, with a sublime passing shot. Truly wonderful. Two huge serves seal the opening game.

SET - MURRAY 6-2 6-3 - Young takes a 30-0 lead but then makes an error of judgement as he leaves Murray's return. It drops on the line. That seems to put him off his game as he makes a further two errors. And then there was only going to be one way he conceded the game and the set. Yep, you guessed it. Double fault.
-
MURRAY 6-2 5-3 - The World No. 4 is down 0-15 in a flash as Young fires a winner off the forehand. Murray's back on form though, producing some very neat and pinpoint ground strokes to take a 40-15 lead. A kicked serve out wide proves too good for Young, who can only send the return wide.

BREAK - MURRAY 6-2 4-3 - It doesn't look like either of these players want to hold their serve in this second set. Young makes an error on the forehand before Murray punishes the American's second serve to smash at the net. The home favourite then nets a backhand before sending a volley approach long. That's the fourth consecutive break of serve.

BREAK - MURRAY 6-2 3-3 - An error-strewn game from both players sees Young have a chance of a break-back at 30-40. In homage to Young, Murray double faults to take the set to 3-3. Bizarre.

MURRAY 6-2 3-2 - Positive stuff from the Ameircan. Murray seems to be allowing him to play a little more and Young is looking more settled. The 22-year-old approaches the net on consecutive points - forcing Murray to miss. He then makes two errors on relatively routine ground strokes though. Young's chipped approach then drifts long to hand the Scot another break point. Another error on the forehand seals the break.

BREAK - MURRAY 6-2 2-2 - Massive wobble from the Brit. He misses with three consecutive forehands and gifts Young the chance of a break back. The first break point disappears as the American tries to hit a clean winner down the line - poor decision as it just was not on. Murray's then caught out mid-court so decides to challenge a ball that lands on the baseline. It was more out of hope than anything. Back on serve.
-
MURRAY 6-2 2-1 - The unseeded American serves up a beauty to craft a chance of an easy put-away, but he sends the forehand long. Three successive big serves set up winners for Young, who races to 40-15. He wastes the first game point with a long forehand, but produces a one-two to secure his first game of the day.
-
MURRAY 6-2 2-0 - Murray approaches the net on the opening point and puts the ball away following a tricky bounce at his feet. He's won 5/5 points when coming forward. The Brit then sends a cross-court forehand wide when attempting to beat Young at the net. It lands narrowly wide. An ace down the middle takes it to 30-15 but a poor forehand error takes the game level. It's soon deuce as the two players exhange ground stroke errors. Two big aces consolidate the break for the World No. 4.

BREAK - MURRAY 6-2 1-0 - It's not going well for the American, who obviously is very talented. He again tries to hit clean winners from the baseline on the opening two points of his first service game of the second set. They both miss. He reverts back to the tactic that he was using yesterday - staying in the rally until the winner is on. He claws a point back but then nets a volley before double faulting.

SET - MURRAY 6-2 - Young has totally given up on this set. He's going for the lines and not making the shots. Murray holds to love and that's the first set.

BREAK - MURRAY 5-2 - Young looks tough to beat when he keeps the ball in play, but is missing quite a few balls when going for the lines. He's instantly down 0-15 with a wide backhand but makes up for it with a well-taken smash at the net. Murray has a chance of a break at 30-30 but the 22-year-old Young approaches the net and volleys away with ease. It's soon deuce though, when the Scot produces a sublime passing shot on the run. Another Murray winner followed by a Young ensures the break.
