Nadal 1-6 6-2 4-6 6-3 6-6 Pouille: GAME, SET, MATCH POUILLE! Pouille nets on the opening point as Nadal gains the immediate mini break but the Frenchman responds with an excellent volley. Nadal then nets a mid-court forehand that he’d make nine times out of ten to hand back the break and Pouille rifles another backhand onto the line for 3-1. An ace puts the Frenchman further ahead but he nets a backhand going for another winner and Nadal puts more pressure on the Pouille serve but just misses with a forehand by a matter of inches. A forehand winner gives Pouille three match points but he nets a nervy forehand on the first and Nadal finds a big serve to set up a forehand winner. Nerves get the better of Pouille as he hits long to blow his third match point but then Nadal makes a glaring error on the forehand and Pouille hits a forehand winner to end it! Epic match.

The Frenchman responds with a fine backhand winner up the line but Nadal hits a forehand winner of his own before Pouille hits long. Tiebreak time!
