GAME, SET AND MATCH! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-4 6-2 NISHIKORI. Novak Djokovic books his place in the 2018 US Open final with a ruthless straight sets victory over Nishikori in two hours and 22 minutes. The Serb started well and rarely let up as he outclassed his Japanese opponent, serving out on his second match point from deuce. Djoker will now face del Potro in Sunday's final as he bids for a third US Open crown and a 14th major title overall.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-4 5-2 NISHIKORI. The fat lady has warmed up and is about to sing her chorus of farewell to Kei's US Open hopes. The Japanese saves one break point with his second ace of the match, but fires long off the backhand on the next. Djokovic will now serve for the match and a place in the final.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-4 4-2 NISHIKORI. There's just the five winners between Kei and Nole, but it's the Japanese's unforced error count that has the alarm bells ringing. He's now up to 46, and he makes little impression as Djoker lands a crunching first serve to hold to 15. The finish line is firmly in sight.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-4 3-2 NISHIKORI. The Serb is fuming as he can't secure the double break from deuce. Nishikori is flailing but he digs deep to keep his fading hopes alive a bit longer.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-4 3-1 NISHIKORI. Djokovic consolidates emphatically with an all-too-easy love hold. Kei getting desperate and he's starting to leak cheap errors, gifting Djoker easy points.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-4 2-1 NISHIKORI. This one looks almost done. Djokovic breaks to 15 before walking to his chair with composed clenching of the fist. He's firmly in control with complacency the only real threat to him not winning this match in straight sets.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-4 1-1 NISHIKORI. Novak overcomes a mini blip from 30-30 to breeze through the next two points and get on the board. The 13-time Grand Slam champion seems to have hit a slight lull since the break, but Nishikori still doesn't look like changing the course of this contest.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-4 0-1 NISHIKORI. After an extended break where both players ventured off court, Kei returns to make short work of a love hold to make a positive start to the set. Novak's level dipped off a bit there with a couple of unforced errors.

SET! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-4 NISHIKORI. The former world No.1 is one set away from the final as he serves out to 15. Kei has played a big part in an entertaining match to watch, but he hasn't really had the weapons or consistency to suggest he can truly get under Djoker's skin.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 5-4 NISHIKORI. Special K bites back from 15-30 down to pose the serve-out question to the Serb. Over to you, Novak...
DJOKOVIC 6-3 5-3 NISHIKORI. No look-in again for Kei as Novak finishes him off to 15 with an angled backhand volley at the net. The Serb is one game away from a two-set lead. It's looking more and more likely Djoker will be heading to a Sunday showdown with del Potro for the trophy.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 4-3 NISHIKORI. Kei remains in touch with a hold to 30.
