Good evening and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE coverage of the 2019 US Open men's singles semi final between Daniil Medvedev and Grigor Dimitrov. We'll bring you all the action as it happens at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The two players will be on court at 21:00 GMT.

Dimitrov has had an excellent tournament. In time he will reflect on an exceptional US Open. Nothing was expected of the Bulgarian coming into the competition, but he exorcised some ghosts, especially with that quarter final win over Federer.

GAME, SET, MATCH! Medvedev beats Dimitrov 7-6 (5), 6-4, 6-3 to make his first ever Grand Slam final! What a performance from the Russian. He is so difficult to play against, as Dimitrov discovered. Medvedev has been something of a pantomime villain at times over the past two weeks, but the Arthur Ashe crowd give him a nice reception.

Medvedev 5-3 *Dimitrov (7-6, 6-4): That's a gutsy hold from Dimitrov, who faced two match points, but managed to keep his serve. Medvedev will be forced to serve out for the match and a place in the US Open final.

*Medvedev 5-2 Dimitrov (7-6, 6-4): That was a missed opportunity for Dimitrov. Medvedev looked a little tight there, but a couple unforced errors from the Bulgarian let him off the hook.

Medvedev 4-2 *Dimitrov (7-6, 6-4): That was much better from the Bulgarian as he holds his serve swiftly. Nonetheless, Medvedev is just two games away from his first ever Grand Slam final.

*Medvedev 4-1 Dimitrov (7-6, 6-4): The Russian has found his serving flow in this third set and it's a quick hold from Medvedev to consolidate the break of serve. He's close now.

Break, Medvedev! Medvedev 3-1 *Dimitrov (7-6, 6-4): Could that be the critical blow in this match? Dimitrov double faults at 15-30 and then sends a forehand long on break point. He is just three games away from losing now.

*Medvedev 2-1 Dimitrov (7-6, 6-4): The Bulgarian looked to have the number five seed on a string at 30-30, but a lob got Medvedev out of trouble and he holds serve to edge ahead in this third set.

Medvedev 1-1 *Dimitrov (7-6, 6-4): That was at least encouraging. Dimitrov holds to love and sees out the game with a spectacular Monfils-esque overhead smash at the net. Level in the third set early on.

*Medvedev 1-0 Dimitrov (7-6, 6-4): A very quick hold to love from the Russian to start the third set. Dimitrov needs to focus himself quickly or this match could be over for him very quickly.

This has been a real battle on Arthur Ashe Stadium. Medvedev made more double faults and struck fewer winners than Dimitrov, but the Russian is a master at mixing up things and unsettling his opponents. He's playing a smarter match.

SECOND SET, MEDVEDEV! 7-6 (5), 6-4! This match has followed a frustrating pattern for Dimitrov. He has dictated the majority of the play, he has hit more winners and has played well... but it's Medvedev who takes control as the Bulgarian nets a backhand cross-court.

*Medvedev 5-4 Dimitrov (7-6): That was a HUGE game in this second set! Dimitrov had chances to break which would have seen him serve for the set, but Medvedev is wily and holds.

Medvedev 4-4 *Dimitrov (7-6): The longest rally of the match was in that Dimitrov service game - 33 shots. God resolve shown by the Bulgarian to stick with Medvedev in the rallies.
