Good evening and welcome to our live text coverage of the first men's US Open semi-final as fifth seed Alexander Zverev takes on Pablo Carreno Busta on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

ZVEREV 3-6 0-1 CARRENO BUSTA - BREAK! Oh dear, it gets worse for Zverev! Carreno Busta shows incredible patience and consistency as he lets his opponent commit errors and eventually breaks after a long deuce.

ZVEREV 3-6 CARRENO BUSTA - SET! Carreno Busta does manage to close it out. It's not easy, and Zverev pegs him back twice, but he does win the opening set in 40 minutes. Zverev simply has to respond, and quickly!

ZVEREV 3-5 CARRENO BUSTA - Zverev does manage to hold and further reduce the deficit, and suddenly Carreno Busta will have a nervy game to close out this set on his own serve.

ZVEREV 2-5 CARRENO BUSTA - Gosh, Carreno Busta looks stunned to lose a single game, that is what this set has come to. But Zverev breaks back and extends this set. Now, can he hold and keep this up?

ZVEREV 1-5 CARRENO BUSTA - This is seriously one-sided all of a sudden, and Zverev's body language is really poor. Carreno Busta can already serve out for the opening set now, and Zverev needs to wake up!

ZVEREV 1-4 CARRENO BUSTA - Carreno Busta is absolutely ice cool as he consolidates his break of serve, and he holds to 15 to extend his lead. To say Zverev looks flat would be an understatement!

ZVEREV 1-3 CARRENO BUSTA - BREAK! Oh dear! Zverev totally shanks a backhand cross-court to concede a break of serve early on, and this is not the start he needed to this match. Carreno Busta deserves credit for constant pressure, but he didn't have to do much.

ZVEREV 1-2 CARRENO BUSTA - What an epic game! Zverev takes his opponent to an extended deuce and very nearly breaks, but twice makes unforced errors when the opportunity arises and Carreno Busta somehow comes through.

ZVEREV 1-1 CARRENO BUSTA - Zverev also gets on the board at the first time of asking, and both players will be relieved. The German has been accused of being vulnerable to nerves, and he is trying to prove that wrong.

ZVEREV 0-1 CARRENO BUSTA - The Spaniard holds with ease to begin the opening set of this first semi-final, and now he will look to pile the pressure on his opponent early on.

Carreno Busta, the 20th seed, will serve first in this opening semi-final.
