NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-7 6-4 - Accomplished stuff from Nadal as he cruises inexorably towards three match points. One nice volley at the net from the Spaniard and that's game, set and match for Nadal. Murray up next for the reigning champion.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-7 5-4 - Fish holds despite some strong resistance from Nadal but it all comes down to this final service game from the number one seed. Can he serve out the game to ensure a meeting with Andy Murray in the semi-finals?
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-7 5-3 - A fine passing shot from Nadal and Fish is then long on his return. The Spaniard is closing in on a semi-final against Andy Murray, who has just beaten Feliciano Lopez. Fish appears to have lost his way with a couple of wayward shots and a failed volley hands the game to Nadal.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-7 4-3 - Nadal is chasing down every ball like a man who is mightily relieved not to have a serious injury. This time, though, Fish is ready for him - executing some excellent volleys to move 40-15 ahead. He pushes one just a touch long, though, and that gives Nadal half a chance. He nearly punishes Fish for it, but the American digs deep to hang on. If he still has any hopes of victory, he had to do so.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-7 4-2 - Fish goes into the game knowing that he has three games to break Nadal's serve. Make that two - the Spaniard has it almost all his own way with a hold to thirty.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-7 3-2 - Fish's serve fires to bring him two of the first three points, and then a delicate touch on his volleys brings him game point. A wild forehand from the American keeps the Spaniard in the game, but another service winner keeps Fish in the contest.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-7 3-1 - Nadal cementing his break with a comfortable hold of serve. Fish's purple patch has passed - there are a litany of errors and forehands into the net as Nadal romps to a 40-0 lead, before sealing the game with an ace down the middle.

NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-7 2-1 - BREAK! Here's trouble for Fish - 0-30 down against the world's best player. Fish grafts his way to the first, but with a deft drop shot Nadal brings up two break points! He only needs one, as Fish misses a straightforward volley at the net. Nadal reasserts his authority.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-7 1-1 - Less to enjoy in that service hold from Nadal, but the champion is going back to the basics and playing percentage tennis. A hold to 15 arrests some of Fish's momentum.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-7 0-1 - Magnificent volley from Fish to take the first point - at full stretch, he controls his backhand superbly. For a man who has looked a distant second-best for much of the contest, Fish has burst into life. Nadal unleashes a trademark forehand to take the score to 40-15, but the American wraps up the first game with an ace. Surely we're not about to see a second comeback from two sets down today?

NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-7 - BREAK AND SET! It's Fish's turn to prevail in a long baseline exchange. Once again he takes an early advantage in the game, but this one becomes a gilt-edged opportunity when Nadal drills a forehand into the net. Fish gets another return spot on, but nets his next shot which would surely have brought up all three break points! Is that an opportunity gone? No - he takes the next point to raise two set points. The first is spurned, but not the second! We'll have a fourth set!
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-6 - Fish races into a 40-0 lead, but Nadal serves the American a reminder of his threat - as if he hasn't had enough of those already - with a sublime two-handed backhand pass down the line. Fish does hold, though, guaranteeing himself at least a tie-break in this third set.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 5-5 - Deep return from Fish at Nadal's toes gets him off to a good start. Fish sends in another good return but the ever-resourceful Nadal digs in and wins a lengthy rally. It's what makes the Spaniard so formidable, and he ends Fish's hopes of a break by reeling off the next three points.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 4-5 - A good response from Fish, who rattles through his service game in double-quick time. He's pushed the champion further in his set than he has managed in the first two, and the Spaniard will have to come out and serve to stay in the third set after the change of ends.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 4-4 - Nadal holds serve, spiking Fish's anger after making a late call for a hawkeye call. Fish bemused, but the right call is made and Nadal proceeds to hold.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 3-4 - The Spaniard saves a game point by picking the ball off his toes on the run and sending a backhand flick across court - majestic shot. A Fish mis-hit then brings up deuce... but a banging ace out wide keeps it with serve in the third.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 3-3 - Fish stands tall at the net to put away a volley for 15-30 on the Nadal serve... Nadal then wrongfoots his man to tie up the game. And two big serves - including an excellent wide first serve - secure the game for three-all.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 2-3 - Fish has really found his rhythm on serve, and could be about to make life difficult for Nadal in this third set.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 2-2 - Better serving from Nadal, who whacks down some biggies. Fish may be serving more quickly but he is only 19-18 ahead in service winners.
-
NADAL 6-3 6-3 1-2 - Strong serving from Fish, who holds comfortably - his average first serve is 118mph to Nadal's 115mph. Top speed 130mph v 125mph.
