GAME, SET AND MATCH! - NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 6-4 ROSOL - He's done it! Nadal exacts revenge upon the Czech who dumped him out of this tournament at the same stage back in 2012. It was a bit nervy at the start and the tight second set tie-break could have gone Rosol's way. If it had, we would have had a very different proposition on our hands. In the end, the Spaniard wore down his opponent but still had a bit of a hiccup in the concluding game, saving a break point and going through the motions at deuce before an ace and a wayward shot from Rosol finally sealed it.

NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 5-4 ROSOL - Wow, that was a bit quick. Rosol finds his serving rhythm a bit late in the day, but it at least means Rafa will have to serve for the match. If only he had served a few love games like he did at the start of the match, it could have made this very interesting indeed.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 5-3 ROSOL - Nadal saunters through another game, fizzing down some fine first serves and despatching short returns with real efficiency. Rosol wins a challenge to delay the inevitable, but it only serves to anger Spain's Raging Bull as he crashes another forehand winner into the corner to edge ever closer to victory. The Czech will now serve to stay in it.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 4-3 ROSOL - Can't help but feel Rosol has resigned himself to defeat here, but he's doing just enough in his service games to stay within striking distance if does Nadal have a major wobble. It's not a comfortable hold to 30 but it keeps this match alive for a little longer.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 4-2 ROSOL - Rafa is closing in on revenge and a place in round three where he would meet Mikhail Kukushkin. The Spaniard is looking to wrap this up with the minimum of fuss and takes another one to love.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 3-2 ROSOL - The man ranked 65 in the world is hanging in - just. The serve is dragging him through it and it's pretty routine on this occasion. But he needs to do some damage to the Nadal serve and he hasn't looked the least bit likely so far in this set. Can he still make this interesting?
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 3-1 ROSOL - Rafa is now playing some of his best tennis on grass for a long, long time. A magnificent winner down the line from way out in no man's land is the pick of the points as he cruises to yet another love game.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 2-1 ROSOL - Rosol ends a 10-point losing streak at the start of this set with a thunderous ace that sparks cheers from a crowd who want to see more fight. It seems to inspire him as he belts down a couple of superb first serves before clinching it to 30 with a second serve ace.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 2-0 ROSOL - The King of Clay is looking imperious on grass now as he consolidates in real style with another love game. Hard to see any way back into this for the Czech. He was awesome in the first set and half of this contest but is suffering out there now.

NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 1-0 ROSOL - BREAK! There's a real spring in Nadal's step. The first point of the fourth sets the tone for this game as he whips a wonderful winner down the line. The forehand proves too good for Rosol yet again and the Czech eventually succumbs to love when he fires long of the baseline.

NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 ROSOL - SET! The world number one takes control with a very routine service game to love. An emphatic ace down the middle T clinches it. Can Rosol hit back or is revenge now a formality?
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 5-4 ROSOL - Superb play by Rosol who motors to a 40-0 lead with a sublime drop volley at the net that is just too good for Rafa to reach. The Spaniard briefly hits back but can only steer a probing Rosol shot to the baseline into the net. Nadal will now serve for the third set and a 2-1 lead.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 5-3 ROSOL - Two outstanding Rosol returns are sandwiched by a special inside out crosscourt winner from Nadal as the game gets off to a blistering start. Nadal hits back with that crunching forehand to set up an easy volley put-away and he clinches the hold with a stonking wide ace.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 4-3 ROSOL - The Rosol serve isn't as penetrating as it was in previous sets but it does the job here. At pulp (30-30) he's facing more heat but responds with a couple of venomous piledrivers to hold.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 4-2 ROSOL - A mini wobble for Nadal as he hooks long to allow Rosol hope at deuce. A fizzing wide ace and a vicious first serve down the middle T sets up the hold as he despatches a tame return with ease.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 3-2 ROSOL - At 30-30 Rafa is looking imperious but Rosol keeps fighting and wins a crucial point with an angled volley at the net. A rasping ace ensures he stays just the one break behind.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 3-1 ROSOL - The number two seed emphatically consolidates the break to love. Nadal has managed to get Rosol out of his head and his playing some impressive stuff that the Czech can't live with at present.

NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 2-1 ROSOL - BREAK! The momentum has clearly shifted here. Rosol isn't playing with the same belief and his occasional misfires are giving Nadal chances to do some damage. The Spaniard racks up two break points but the Czech manages to fight them off. The point of the match looks to be Rosol's with a delicate drop volley at the net, but Nadal comes from nowhere to clip it back across court. Many would fold at this stage, but the world number 65 saves another break point before Rafa finally edges in front when Rosol can only return a thumping forehand into the net.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 1-1 ROSOL - Rafa rampages into a 40-0 lead but tries a bizarre angled shot from a high bounce and fluffs it. A double makes life a little bit more difficult for Spain's Raging Bull but he gets back on song with a sizzling wide serve to level.
-
NADAL 4-6 7-6(6) 0-1 ROSOL - That tie break was always going to be so pivotal in the context of this match. It was important Rosol reacted in the right way, but his head mustn't have been completely clear as he blew an easy overhead at 40-30 to give Rafa a sniff. The Czech shrugged off the frustration and duly saw out the game to secure a vital hold as Nadal looked to build on the euphoria of nicking that second set.
