But ultimately it is eighth seed Milos Raonic who is through to the Wimbledon semi-finals where he will face fourth seed Roger Federer on Friday.

Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 7-6(4) Kyrgios. GAME, SET AND MATCH. Raonic goes wide with an inside-out backhand volley on the third match point but he makes no such mistakes on the fourth belting a 133 mph ace down the centre of the court to reach his first ever Grand Slam semi-final. What a performance from both players - a breakthrough from them both for different reasons.

Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 6-6 (6-3) Krygios. TIE-BREAK. A forehand smash winner from Raonic across court brings up five match points for the Canadian. The first goes begging on a late call but Raonic's hawkeye challenge shows his forehand did drop just long down the centre of the court. A big first serve from Kyrgios on the second is returned wide by Raonic. But there are still three match points remaining and the next two are on Raonic's serve.

Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 6-6 (5-1) Kyrgios. TIE-BREAK. A deep breath from Kyrgios before starting the breaker and a huge yell of "come on" after a big first serve sees him take the first point when Raonic's return goes long. He's trying to summon the last of his reserves but there's just nothing left as he can't move his feet in time for a couple of shots that end in errors. A forehand winner down the line from Raonic helps him sneak the double mini break ahead before stretching his lead with a 38th ace. Raonic is potentially just two points away from his first ever Grand Slam semi-final at the change of ends.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 6-6 Kyrgios. Raonic gives the Aussies in the crowd a glimpse of hope when he drops the first point of the game but he comes straight back with a forehand winner and a couple of great body shots that jam up Kyrgios and bring up two break points for the Canadian. A backhand volley error from Raonic allows Kyrgios to peg one point back but the Canadian does force the tie-break with an ace.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 5-6 Kyrgios. A comfortable looking service game gets slightly less comfortable when a couple of Kyrgios errors allow Raonic to come back at 40-30. But the Aussie digs deep and holds on, doing his bit to ensure this set at the very least ends on a tie-break for him.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 5-5 Kyrgios. Ace, ace, backhand sliced approach shot that Kyrgios can only return into the net on the run, and ace. Boom. Another love service hold from Raonic sees him level up once again. Tie-break, anyone? We are just two holds away.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 4-5 Kyrgios. The young Aussie comes up with a clutch forehand winner when he really needs it, to drag himself back level from 15-30 down. He sneaks ahead with a trip into the net but Raonic pulls him back level at deuce with a cross court forehand winner off the return. Kyrgios cannot take advantage of a second game point when he goes wide across court with a slightly casual backhand. But he goes on to hold at the third attempt with some much better play, forcing the error from Raonic. The Canadian will have to serve to stay in this fourth set after the change of ends.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 4-4 Kyrgios. The trouble for Kyrgios is that there's simply no let up from the onslaught of the Raonic serve. The Canadian's service games are flashing by for the Aussie who must feel like he is perpetually serving to keep this match going. Another love hold goes the way of Raonic and all the pressure is back on Kyrgios to post another hold and stay in front. A break here would surely have the match won for the Canadian.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 3-4 Kyrgios. It's a fast match as the clock ticks over to two hours in the process of this seventh game of the fourth set. Poor shot selection from Kyrgios at 40-love as he drops a forehand drop shot short into the net allows Raonic off the mark before the Canadian applies a little more pressure with a forehand winner riffled down the line. But a much bigger first serve again seals the hold for Kyrgios as Raonic nets his return.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 3-3 Kyrgios. The Aussie is getting increasingly frustrated with the Raonic serve now and is moving just that split second sooner trying to guess which way the ball will be coming down at him. It's not a tactic that works massively well in this game as Raonic holds to love with a forehand winner to level up once more.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 2-3 Kyrgios. Raonic levels up 30-all with a booming backhand winner, prompting an audible "come on" from the young Aussie when he takes the next point to bring up a game point. Krygios finds two much bigger serves to draw Raonic backhand errors on each of the last two points as he holds, much to the delight of the Aussie fanatics in the crowd who continue to try and support their man's spirits.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 2-2 Krygios. An incredible fifth second serve ace from Raonic helps him on his way to another love service hold. In fact, it's an entire game of aces from the big-serving Canadian and that has got to sting Kyrgios, who has only managed to break the Raonic serve once so far in this match.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 1-2 Kyrgios. All credit to Kyrgios as he posts a double-quick love service game of his own to sneak back out in front. Even if he loses today, which is looking increasingly likely, the Aussie will have left absolutely everything out on court.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 1-1 Kyrgios. A forehand winner, a service winner, a backhand volley winner and a backhand winner. Raonic demonstrates his all-round skill as he eases through another love service game to level up early on in this fourth set.
Raonic 6-7 6-2 6-4 0-1 Kyrgios. Not an entirely comfortable service game from Kyrgios but he holds despite slapping down another couple of forehand errors. The Aussie is only a set down though and if he can stick with Raonic early on here, he can put some pressure on the Canadian.

Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 6-4 Krygios. SET. Krygios's head drops as he slices a forehand drop shot into the net to hand Raonic a 30-0 lead. A forehand error then hands Raonic three set points. The end of the set turns into a bit of a farce as Raonic's serve is called out before the line judge offers a late correction. Initially, when the ball is called out, Raonic challenges. But when the correction is heard, the umpire assumes Kyrgios will challenge. The Aussie is confused as to what exactly happened and frustrated by what he sees as a very late correction. It wasn't that bad, the line judge got hit by Raonic's ball and had to move back into position before she called the correction. The result is the ball was in and it's the set to Raonic, although Kyrgios has a bit more of a go at the umpire before settling down for the change of ends.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 5-4 Kyrgios. Raonic has had a lot of success today with his sliced backhand approach shot and levels at 30-all when Kyrgios nets an attempted backhand response down the line. But credit to the Aussie as he forces his opponent to serve out the set with a forehand winner down the line and an ace.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 5-3 Kyrgios. The Raonic service games continue to flash by for Kyrgios as the Canadian again holds to love, this time with a forehand winner. Kyrgios will have to serve to stay in this third set now.
Raonic 6-7(4) 6-2 4-3 Kyrgios. A much better serve from Krygios helps him out of a spot of bother at 30-all before he manages to find another big serve that Raonic cannot return in play to hold and remain just the one break down. The youngster is starting to look very tired now though.
