Good evening and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE coverage of the first day of The Championships at Wimbledon. We'll be focusing on the men's first round match between Kyle Edmund and Jaume Munar.

EDMUND IS THROUGH! It's a straight sets 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 win for the British number one who found his groove in the second and third sets even if Munar made him work for the win towards the end. Into the second round.

Edmund 5-4 Munar* (6-4, 6-4): The 22-year-old Spaniard is hanging in there and will force Edmund one more time to serve for the match. No margin for error now, though.

Oops! Edmund has had real trouble closing sets out in this match and the trend continues as Munar breaks just as the British number one was serving for the match. 5-3 in this third set.

*Edmund 5-1 Munar (4-6, 4-6): The British number one is just a single game away from a straight sets victory and a place in the second round of Wimbledon.

*Edmund 4-0 Gauff (4-6, 4-6): You have to think that Edmund is just minutes away from a place in the second round here. Munar has thrown in the towel and Edmund has found his groove.

Double break! Edmund is in complete control in this first round match. He has the double break in this third set and is racing towards the finish line. He has stepped things up.

*Edmund 2-0 Munar (4-6, 4-6): Edmund is just crushing the ball now and Munar doesn't look to have any idea on how to cope with this sort of strength.

Edmund 1-0 Munar* (4-6, 4-6): It's an early break in the third set for Edmund. He brought up break point and then the second set from Munar allowed him to crush a forehand winner down the line.

EDMUND TAKES THE SECOND SET! That was much more straight forward from the British number one, taking the first of three set points on his serve. How much more does Munar have left in the tank?

Edmund 5-4 Munar* (6-4): It happened again. Edmund needed 10 set points to close out the first set and here he allows three set points to slip through his grasp as Munar holds.

*Edmund 5-3 Munar (6-4): The Spaniard will serve to stay in this second set following a comfortable hold from Edmund. Can the British number one close this out?

*Edmund 4-2 Munar (6-4): The Spaniard had a couple of break points on Edmund's serve, but couldn't take either of them and the British number one consolidates the break.

Edmund breaks! The British number one is firmly in control now as he breaks for a 3-2 lead in the second set. Munar put a loose backhand long of the baseline on break point there.

Munar 2-2 Edmund* (4-6): The British number one holds his serving, closing on game plan with a lovely curling forehand winner down the line. He is grinding, but is doing it well so far.

*Edmund 1-1 Munar (6-4): After that marathon final game of the first set, both players were probably quite thankful that the first two service games of the second set were much quicker.

Correction: It was 10 set points.

FINALLY! Edmund needed no fewer than 11 (ELEVEN!) set points to get the job done, but he closes out his service game and the firt set, 6-4. The British number one is up and running.

*Munar 4-5 Edmund: That's a good hold for the Spaniard. He faced two set points, but grinds out the hold and will now have a free hit at the Edmund serve.

News from Court 2... Tsitsipas is OUT! This is undoubtedly the biggest shock in the men's draw so far. The Greek has lost in five sets to Fabbiano. What a surprise defeat for the sixth seed.
