THE 2023 MEN'S WIMBLEDON CHAMPION SPEAKS!
Alcaraz says it’s a dream come true to win the Wimbledon title. He’s fallen in love with grass now! He has learned really fast and he is really, really proud about it.
He states that even if he had lost he’d have been proud of himself, playing against a legend of all the sports in the final. He claims it’s amazing for a 20-year-old boy.
He pays tribute to Djokovic and jokes about his age and laughs that he’s in better shape than him.
It’s a charming on court interview and won’t be the last winner’s speech in a Grand Slam final that he gives, that’s for sure!

DJOKOVIC HEAPS PRAISE ON ALCARAZ
Djoker says it’s not so good for him, but good for Carlos.
He claims it’s a tough one to swallow but praises Carlos and his team. He wants to highlight Alcaraz’s quality at the end of the match when he came out with big serves. He states the Spaniard deserved it: ‘Amazing, amazing.’
He jokes he thought he’d have trouble with Alcaraz on clay and maybe hard court, but not so much grass... yet!
Djokovic also says how amazing it is that Alcaraz achieved this on grass having not played so much on the surface and then going on to win Queens.
He finishes by saying he never likes to lose matches like this but in the past he’s won ones he maybe should have lost – like against Federer in 2019 – so he states it’s ‘Even Steven!’

GAME, SET AND MATCH! – DJOKOVIC 6-1 6-7 1-6 6-3 4-6 ALCARAZ
Take a bow, Carlos Alcaraz! The 20-year-old Spaniard ends Novak Djokovic’s four-year reign as Wimbledon champion to claim a maiden title in SW19 and his second Grand Slam trophy overall.
The 2022 US Open champion came from a set down to prevail in an instant classic that wowed the Centre Court crowd for four hours and 42 minutes.
It’s a result that sees Carlitos remain as the World No.1 and thwarts Nole’s bid for the Calendar Grand Slam and his 24th major overall.
It also means the Serb fails to equal Roger Federer’s record haul of eight Wimbledon men’s singles titles and snaps the veteran’s 10-year winning run on centre court.

BREAK! – DJOKOVIC 6-1 6-7 1-6 6-3 1-2 ALCARAZ
That Game 2 escape has given Alcaraz an extra spring in his step and he charges into the net to pose a question at 15-30.
Nole makes pulp with a sizzling, deep forehand but then slaps a tepid forehand into the net to cough up break point.
A pulsating final point ensues with Alcaraz rifling an astonishing backhand up the line to strike first in the decider.
It’s all too much for Djokovic who obliterates his racquet against the net post and earns a code violation for such poor conduct.
