Hello! Welcome to our coverage of the women's final today at Wimbledon. As you know, young Canadian sensation Eugenie Bouchard is up against Czech 2011 Champion Petra Kvitova. The match-up is hard to call, but if one thing is for sure, there will be aggression.

BOUCHARD 3-6 0-6 KVITOVA. CHAMPION! About five minutes later, it’s all over as Petra Kvitova smashes down another backhand winner to complete one of the most glorious final performances ever witnessed on Centre Court. After years of wondering whether the Czech would ever reach the heights of 2011, she comes back three years later and surpasses them.

BOUCHARD 3-6 0-5 KVITOVA. People keep on waiting for even the slightest hiccup from the Czech, but she’s only getting better. Four humongous serves later, Kvitova moves to within a game of her second Grand Slam victory with a love hold.

BOUCHARD 3-6 0-4 KVITOVA. BREAK! Well, another bit of hope comes Bouchard’s way as the Canadian finds herself up 40-15. The response? Another violent return followed by a screaming running forehand crosscourt return winner. More unbelievable returning from Kvitova seals the second break, and she’s two games away

BOUCHARD 3-6 0-3 KVITOVA. Oof! Kvitova looks to be destroying all in her path to another service hold, but two boneheaded decisions after massive first serves offer Bouchard a lifeline at deuce. Two big first serves and the lifeline is gone. On Kvitova goes.

BOUCHARD 3-6 0-2 KVITOVA. BREAK! The battering continues as Kvitova smashes down a few more massive returns, snatching the break with a backhand straight down to Bouchard’s laces, so fast and deep that the Canadian can only look on as the ball flies well out.

BOUCHARD 3-6 0-1 KVITOVA. The Czech merely picks up where she left off by smashing down a few first serves, and one violent forehand down-the-line, to hold to begin a new set.

BOUCHARD 3-6 KVITOVA. SET! That lasted long! Kvitova responds to losing her serve by smashing down a couple of massive returns, including a sickly sweet crosscourt angled backhand return. Another return does the business as Bouchard’s attempt to put her racquet on it drips out and the first set is in the Czech lady’s pocket.

BOUCHARD 3-5 KVITOVA. Welcome to centre court, Genie! The Canadian finally finds her way into another game, a few good returns and crosscourt forehands just outmanoeuvring the Czech on the backhand side. A further backhand error from the Czech on break point and the crowd roar as the golden girl has her first break.

BOUCHARD 2-5 KVITOVA. BREAK! It’s all going swimmingly thus far for Kvitova. The Czech pounces early to bring up a 0-30 lead. A double fault from Bouchard eventually brings up two more break points, but this time the Czech isn’t about to miss another opportunity

BOUCHARD 2-4 KVITOVA. Well, it would appear that Kvitova is unfazed by the missed opportunities to swipe another break. The Czech slams down three massive serves to race to a 40-0 lead, and only one double fault can put a brief halt to her march to restore her two-game lead.

BOUCHARD 2-3 KVITOVA. Kvitova isn’t satisfied and immediately brandishes a few more big returns to bring up two break points, however a serve followed by a well-timed forehand winner and a couple of big Bouchard serves bring her to game point. The game swings like a yo-yo back to break point, but the Canadian eventually gets enough first serves to hold.

BOUCHARD 1-3 KVITOVA. Eugenie is feasting on every scrap she gets, drilling down three brilliantly deep returns straight to Kvitova’s feet to bring about a nervous deuce. But the Czech’s serve is sending shots all over the place. On game point comes one of the point of Kvitova’s year as she uncharacteristically chases down a load of Bouchard bullets, including a smash, before whistling a screamer of a Federer-esque angled slice passing shot. Majestic.

BOUCHARD 1-2 KVITOVA. BREAK! The Canuck gets to 30-0 and looks well on her way to another hold. A couple missed first serve, and the Czech comes screaming back into the game, brandishing nuclear forehands and backhands left and right. Humongous swipes at the ball bring her to break point, only for Bouchard to save it. However, the fourth massive winner of the game, this one a crosscourt forehand, bring home the break.

BOUCHARD 1-1 KVITOVA. Not a bad start from Kvitova either. An ace to begin, followed by a winner plop on the line. A couple more unreturned serves from the Czech hand her a service game herself. Not too many nerves from either lady early on.

BOUCHARD 1-0 KVITOVA A couple of forehand errors apiece kick things off on centre court, but the Canadian quickly settles down, banging in a few big first serves and plucking away a forehand winner off a Kvitova slice. A further forehand winner hands her the game, and we’re off!

Off they come onto court with flowers in hands and sombre looks on faces. In Kvitova's first Wimbledon final, she and Sharapova were practically racing each other through the corridors that lead to the court. Kvitova won the race and the match too, and she's marching onto court first once more.

The roof has been on all morning as rain spat down, however it's rolling off as we speak! Blue sky is peeking out above the stadium, but in the least surprising news in history, rain is on the forecast today.

The pair have only played once before, with Kvitova notching up an easy 6-3 6-2 win in Bouchard's native Canada. But the Canadian has improved immensely in 11 months. Will there be nerves? Time will tell.
