Hello and welcome to LIVE updates of the 2016 Wimbledon semi finals. First up on Centre court it's reigning champion and world number one, Serena Williams against Russian hopeful, Elena Vesnina.

GAME, SET AND MATCH!- WILLIAMS 6-2 6-0 VESNINA. Serena Williams marches into the 2016 Wimbledon final with a 48-minute demolition of Russian underdog, Elena Vesnina, serving it out to love with a second-set bagel. On this form the reigning champion looks a strong bet to equal Steffi Graf's haul of 22 Open Era majors and clinch a seventh SW19 title. She will face her sister Venus or German, Angelique Kerber in Saturday's final. Those two are next up on Centre Court.

BREAK! - WILLIAMS 6-2 5-0 VESNINA. Ridiculous. The world number one converts on her second BP with a wonderful winner up the line to move within a game of a bagel and a place in this year's final. She'll look to serve it out next.

WILLIAMS 6-2 4-0 VESNINA. Too good. It's another imperious hold to love. Only minutes left in this one as Serena marches on.

BREAK! - WILLIAMS 6-2 3-0 VESNINA. This is a disaster for Vesnina. She gets a reprieve when Serena inexplicably drives long when triple BP seemed inevitable. The Russian gets to 30-30 but can't get in front as Williams unleashes a crosscourt backhand winner. The pressure proves too much and a double fault secures the double break and this match is over.

WILLIAMS 6-2 2-0 VESNINA. Serena consolidates to love. The thumping aces and searing first serves are doing so much damage. Vesnina's big day is turning into a nightmare.

BREAK! - WILLIAMS 6-2 1-0 VESNINA. This match is running away from Elena. Williams breaks to 15 and it could well be over in under an hour at this rate.

Ominous for Vesnina.

SET! - WILLIAMS 6-2 VESNINA. The champion's defence of the title is purring right now as she puts one foot into Saturday's final with another serving masterclass to seal the set to love in just 28 minutes. Elena has quite simply been blown away. Can she make the second set more competitive? Hard to see beyond a straight sets triumph at this juncture.

WILLIAMS 5-2 VESNINA. Warm applause for Elena as she serves big and benefits from some cheap errors from Williams to chalk up another on the board to 15. It's her best service game so far and something to set as a benchmark for the second set. Serena will now look to serve out the opener.

WILLIAMS 5-1 VESNINA. The aces come thick and fast as Serena takes her tally to six in total with a quickfire hold to 15. She's one away from a devastatingly good opening set success. Vesnina hasn't done much wrong, she's just been outclassed by one of the game's greats.

WILLIAMS 4-1 VESNINA. Elena can finally breath. The 29-year-old looks focused with a pair of early aces but misses a big opportunity on a short ball to allow the veteran American to 30-30. Serena clocks up another BP that the Russian saves with a third ace before more strong serving and a wayward lob from the world number one see her get on the board.

Rampant.

WILLIAMS 4-0 VESNINA. Serena is on fire. Elena charges around the court desperately trying to battle her way into points. Sadly, the world number one is n the zone, picking her off at the net and throwing in an ace for good measure. The American consolidates to 15 and this set is now abut damage limitation for the semi final debutant.
