Muguruza and Kuznetsova will be with us shortly; this should be a belter. Just yesterday, Muguruza came back from a set down to beat Kerber in a classic, while Kuznetsova hammered Radwanska.

Muguruza 6-3 6-4 Kuznetsova
Kuznetsova goes long on the backhand and whacks her racket on her knee; 30-0, and Muguruza is two points away. But she nets a forehand, loses the next point too ... and shmices an ace down the T! Matchpoint Muguruza! Another giant serve down the T, a return which flies over the baseline, and Muguruza is now back in the world's top 10. And rightly so, that was great performance, full of elegance and risk.
She plays Rybarikova or Vandeweghe in the semi-final, and will fancy her chances of reaching a second final in three years.

Muguruza 6-3 5-4 Kuznetsova
Well done Svetlana Kuznetsova! With Muguruza piling into her, she keeps calm to respond in kind, holding to 15 and ratcheting up the pressure.
14:56
Muguruza 6-3 5-3 Kuznetsova
Another comfortable hold for Muguruza; she is just too good for Kuznetsova playing like this, and she'll doubtless chuck everything at her returns as she tries to win the match.
14:51
Muguruza 6-3 4-3 Kuznetsova
Kuznetsova struggles through another service game, as menacing clouds threaten above. If Muguruza holds twice, that'll probably be enough to get us finished, but I fear for the next match.

Muguruza 6-3 4-2 Kuznetsova
Kuznetsova pushes Muguruza to 30-all, then slips losing the next point - she's fine, but there's a metaphorical force - and Muguruza nets a forehand for deuce, ordering herself to keep calm thereafter. A long rally follows, Kuznetsova in control, but she botches the drop for which she'd worked so hard, hitting the net, and Muguruza quickly polishes off the game.

Muguruza 6-3 3-2 Kuznetsova
And here we go: two errors from Kuznetsova put her serve in danger, but she stays strong for 15-30 then goes long with a forehand as the grunting goes up a level from both players. Muguruza has first break-points of the set, and there follows a long rally of which she looks to be in control, but slowly Kuznetsova clambers into it, setting herself for a drop-shot. To no avail, Muguruza sending a backhand return down the line and backing it up with a forehand into the opposite corner. She is absolutely humming today.

Muguruza 6-3 2-2 Kuznetsova
More or less, Kuznetsova has to hope Muguruza cools down, because if she maintains her level eventually class and classiness will tell. Which isn't to decry Kuznetsova, who is a fine player, but she just doesn't have the range, guile and spirit of her opponent. And there's another elegant hold.
14:32
Muguruza 6-3 1-2 Kuznetsova
Though she doesn't have the presence of Muguruza, Kuznetsova is a proper powerhouse, and whams her way to another hold.
14:24
Muguruza 6-3 1-1 Kuznetsova
Kuznetsova arranges herself a break-point but Muguruza plays it beautifully, a service out wide, a follow up to the other corner, and then a backhand winner. Next, an ace, and then a giant forehand; Muguruza looks so, so confident.

Muguruza 6-3 Kuznetsova
Kuznetsova gives herself a glimmer with a giant backhand when trailing 30-0. But she then goes long with a return, unable to read the service down the T; two set-points, the first saved with a monstrous forehand, inside-out. But then Muguruza, screaming with every shot, pounds balls into corners moving her opponent this way and that - it's a great rally this - one she ends with a beautiful backhand down the line which clinches the set. Conchita Martinez, Muguruza's coach, enjoys it.

Muguruza 5-3 Kuznetsova
To play well on grass you need to serve well and return well, apparently. More news as I get it. Anyway, Kuznetsova, who is metronomic in her grunting, holds to love; Muguruza will have to serve for it.
14:12
Muguruza 5-2 Kuznetsova
Muguruza is looking very strong on serve - Kuznetsova just can't make an impression and she rattles through another game, hitting the ball bastard hard with a beautiful flourish. She's one away from the first set.
14:10
Muguruza 4-2 Kuznetsova
Muguruza played herself into championship form yesterday and it shows. She holds easily then puts Kuznetsova right back under; Kuznetsova responds well, sending a forehand down the line and cleaning up with a backhand to the other corner. She holds to 15.

Muguruza 3-1 Kuznetsova
Muguruza is on the attack - of course she is - and breaks to love. Kuznetsova is solid and all that, but Muguruza would have to play very badly to lose this.
13:56
Muguruza 2-1 Kuznetsova
Kuznetsova has started the better and at 15-30 opcks her moment to come in, a backhand volley raising two break-points. Muguruza saves both, the second with a luscious backhand down the line, and after three deuces she holds.
13:54
Muguruza 1-1 Kuznetsova
A love hold for Kuznetsova.
13:51
Muguruza 1-0 Kuznetsova
Good from Muguruza, coming back from 0-30 down to hold without deuce. "Always good to win your first service game," apparently.
13:50
Kuznetsova has won the toss and opted to receive.
