So, that was amazing. Konta plays Venus Williams on Thursday, and of course we'll be here for that an everything in between. Bye!

"Some stuff about process."
18:57
"I felt very clear what I was trying to achieve out there, whether it was going well or not ... I stuck to my true self."
18:57
"It's a little bit surreal ... a few minutes ago I was playing and now I'm in here," says Konta.
18:55
I should note that someone in the crowd squealed as the players played the final point - as Konta played her final shot - and Halep lobbed a forehand into the net. But whatever. she didn't have to, and either way, that was a monstrously intense and brutal contest, exactly what sport is about. Amazing!

Konta (2)6-7 7-6(5) 6-4
For those of us who grew up with Jo Durie, Sam Smith, Annabel Croft and Monique Javer, this is really something. Halep takes the first point of th game, but then goes long with a forehand; 15-all. Next, a backhand winner into the corner from Konta; two away! She serves long, then Halep takes control off the second attempt; opening up the court ... but Konta guess right, waiting in the forehand corner to send a winner into open court! Matchpoint! AND THERE IT IS! JOHANNA KONTA IS IN THE WIMBLEDON SEMI-FINAL, AND WHAT A WAR THAT WAS! INCREDIBLE, INVIGORATING STUFF!
18:49
Konta (2)6-7 7-6(5) 5-4 Halep
Halep delivers a third love-game in a row ... in 90 seconds, Johanna Konta will try and serve her way into the semi-finals!
18:46
Konta (2)6-7 7-6(5) 5-3 Halep
Konta powers through, taking her time between points to discharge all her power during them. and what a point she plays to clinch a love-hold, a serve down the T completed by a drive-forehand, inside-out into the corner. Halep will now serve to stay in the tournament!
18:43
Konta (2)6-7 7-6(5) 4-3 Halep
Have a look! Halep rustles through a love-game, and Konta must now gather herself for the final push.
18:38
Konta (2)6-7 7-6(5) 4-2 Halep
A big ugly backhand gets Konta 30-0, before another brutal rally ends when Halep whacks a forehand wide. These two are in absolutely phenomenal shape, physically and mentally; like Nadal-Simon yesterday, the standard of play has barely wavered through the match, regardless of fatigue and pressure. And somehow, Halep fights back to 40-30, of course she does, but goes marginally long with a return and Konta consolidates the break!

Konta (2)6-7 7-6(5) 3-2 Halep
Seemingly every rally, one players asks the other to play just one more shot; they're the Columbos of tennis. And Konta, at 15-all, finds a lovely angle to stretch Halep into a squash shot ... she nets. and then she nets again! Two break-points Konta, BUT IT ONLY TAKES ONE! She launches into the rally, dictating with shots to the corner, and eventually Halep can't make a forehand! Konta is very close to becoming the first British woman into the semis since Virginia Wade in 1977!

Konta (2)6-7 7-6(5) 2-2 Halep
Much better from Konta, holding to 15 and nabbing herself a bit of rest in the process. What are we going to do without a tiebreak?

Konta (2)6-7 7-6(5) 1-2 Halep
That's how you do it. Halep holds to 15, and now looks the more comfortable player. Konta has a gel thing, one of which I ingested recently doing Three Peaks Challenge. Not being a coffee drinker, within about ten minutes, I was not only in baying wind and driving rain, on a mountain at 3am, but the back of my head felt like it'd been sliced off.

Konta (2)6-7 7-6(5) 1-1 Halep
Konta smashes the baseline with a backhand, then cleans up with a forehand volley - she's been excellent at the net so far today and this latest venture earns her 30-all. But then a tentative jab lets Halep pass her ... break-point, saved with a huge forehand! Konta then sends yergirl from side to side, eventually punishing another forehand winner but we end up back at deuce. Konta then earns herself anther advantage, but Halep dominates the next rally, opening a passage to the net and a forehand into the corner. What a match this is! What competitors these two are! But Konta, after snaffling advantage again, nets an unnecessary drop-shot; she was right there, in position to hit the ball extremely hard. More net hijinks follow, a net-cord just about benefitting Konta, and this time she negotiates a hold! we've been going two hours and 10 minutes....

Konta (2)6-7 7-6(5) 0-1 Halep
Off we go then! At 30-0, a tired drive-volley from Halep goes straight at Konta, who slams it back, then does likewise with her next return. But Halep, who looks to be tiring, hangs on, cementing the game with a lob, thereby rescuing a tame second serve.
18:11
Konta has nipped off for something or other.

A backhand cross-court, panelled - of course - and there we are! We'll have a final set, and Konta has earned that by refusing to back down, committing to aggression on every point.

Konta (2)6-7 6-6 6-5 Halep
Halep goes long, putting us back on serve, and Konta wrongfoots her with a forehand to bring us level. We get to 4-4 on serve, but then Konta goes marginally long with a backhand ... she's on the brink here, but a brave return forces Halep to net, and then a monstrous barrage of groundstrokes earns her set-point!
