GAME, SET AND MATCH! – TOMLJANOVIC 1-6 3-6 BARTY. It’s all over! The top seed convincingly prevails in the all-Aussie battle as she serves it out with an ace on her second match point to ease to victory in one hour and six minutes. Ash will now play 2018 winner, Angie Kerber in the last four. Karolina Pliskova takes on Aryna Sabalenka in the other semi on Thursday afternoon.

BREAK! – TOMLJANOVIC 1-6 3-5 BARTY. So close! Tomljanovic seems to be in charge at 30-15 with a very different demeanour about her. However, she nets a volley from close-in at 30-30 and then rifles long of the baseline as she pushes too hard to try and make things happen for herself. It’s another break and Barty will now serve for the match.

BREAK! – TOMLJANOVIC 1-6 3-4 BARTY. Hold the phone! Barty gets a touch tight and hammers a crosscourt forehand attempt into the net. It comes on break point and suddenly the Croatian-born Aussie has a glimmer of hope.
TOMLJANOVIC 1-6 2-4 BARTY. Just as it threatens to run away from the underdog, she finds real clutch serving. From break point she thunders down a pair of aces before another big serve claims a hold that keeps her in this contest at the very least for a little bit longer.
TOMLJANOVIC 1-6 1-4 BARTY. Too good. Not even a double fault can give Ajla the boost she needs to try and make a real match of this. The world number one slams down an ace to take charge and finishes with an off-balance forehand that loops short of her opponent’s reach.

BREAK! - TOMLJANOVIC 1-6 1-3 BARTY. That’s a real sickener for the world number 75. Barty just won’t give her space to breathe. Even at 40-15 she’s not safe. Ash presses to deuce and then really applies the squeeze. Tomljanovic manages to fend off two break points but hits too big on the third and drills long of the baseline. Barty is on the charge and looks all set to get this done with the minimum of fuss.
TOMLJANOVIC 1-6 1-2 BARTY. It’s certainly not as straight-forward for Barty now. Tomljanovic guesses right on a forehand and produces a lob that catches the top seed off balance. It leaves the world number one playing catch up and needing to fend off another break point before hanging tough from deuce. Ash grins as she takes her seat and is apparently enjoying the all-Aussie showdown.

BREAK! – TOMLJANOVIC 1-6 1-1 BARTY. The forehand returns and then some! Barty unleashes a trio of forehands on break point to crush Ajla’s resistance and immediately snare the break back.
BREAK! – TOMLJANOVIC 1-6 1-0 BARTY. New set, different Barty? It’s all about the dip in standard form the world number one as she throws in two double faults and misfires on the previously purring forehand. Tomljanovic didn’t have to do much and gets the ideal lift to kick off Set 2.

SET! – TOMLJANOVIC 1-6 BARTY. That is sublime. Barty unloads a big forehand and then runs to the net to guide another beauty right into the opposite corner to claim a breadstick set on her second opportunity. It’s another break and further evidence of how one-sided it’s been.

TOMLJANOVIC 1-5 BARTY. The Barty forehand has been smoking hot but she duffs one into the net from mid-court at 30-30 to give Ajla a lifeline. The top seed quickly snatches that away with a brilliant second serve and follows up with another as she raises her level at the key moment to move within a game of taking the opener.

BREAK! – TOMLJANOVIC 1-4 BARTY. Tomljanovic looks towards her corner in dismay as the ball fizzes beyond her for 0-30. It says much about how this set has gone so far. She goes for broke with a backhand down the line that flies just wide and it’s triple break point. She engages in a slice off from the baseline but there’s only going to be one winner there and a tame strike into the net sees her cough up a double break.
TOMLJANOVIC 1-3 BARTY. This is definitely a more assured Barty as she confidently consolidates. She was leaking lots of error trying to find her range in the earlier rounds but she’s started brilliantly here. A sumptuous crosscourt forehand completely flummoxes Ajla and is the pick of her points as she motors through another hold to love.

BREAK! – TOMLJANOVIC 1-2 BARTY. That’s a real statement of intent from Barty who has looked better and better as this tournament has progressed. Tomljanovic fizzes a forehand long and coughs up two break points. The Croatian-born Aussie saves one with staunch defence but the top seed makes it count on the second with a blistering crosscourt forehand winner.
TOMLJANOVIC 1-1 BARTY. Whatever you can do…. Barty responds with a love hold of her own, planting down a first ace of the contest along the way.
TOMLJANOVIC 1-0 BARTY. Ajla handled the partisan crowd last night and she clearly feels settled right from the off here as she surges through a perfect hold to get her bid for a last-four spot underway in style.

Tomljanovic will serve first.
Tomljanovic made the last eight after Britain's Emma Raducanu was forced to reture during their match last night.
