Last up on Centre Court, it’s top seed, Ash Barty against Czech world number 64 Katerina Siniakova. The players are due for the warm-up shortly.

GAME, SET AND MATCH! - BARTY 6-3 7-5 SINIAKOVA. Barty finally serves it out at the second time of asking on her second match point. The Aussie had to hit back from 15-30 down to get the job done in straight sets in what was a tricky encounter. That was arguably her best showing in SW19 so far this year and she will now face French Open champion, Barbora Krejcikova in the last 16.

BREAK! - BARTY 6-3 6-5 SINIAKOVA. That’s some response twice over from the world number one. She sees triple break point flitter away as Kat pushes for a 6-5 lead. Barty hangs tough and earns a break point with a backhand volley following a face-off at the net. Arguably the point of the match ensues with the top seed conjuring up a lob that’s too good for the Czech to return. Barty will now serve for the match once again.

BREAK! - BARTY 6-3 5-5 SINIAKOVA. Game on! Barty gets very tight and dumps a tame forehand into the net. She follows it with a miscued backhand slice that coughs up two break points. Three aces turn the game on its head to tee up match point but Siniakova forces the error to stay alive. A dart to the net rushes the Aussie and the world number 64 earns a third opportunity. This time Ash spews way long and this match still has some legs in it!

BARTY 6-3 5-4 SINIAKOVA. Barty probes from 15-30 but can’t find the accuracy to get the job done on the return game. The Aussie drifts a strange slice wide before fizzing a forehand just long. She will now serve for the match.

BARTY 6-3 5-3 SINIAKOVA. It’s far from comfortable but Barty digs out an important hold to move within a game of victory. The Aussie hits back from 0-30 and then is pressed to deuce when Siniakova successfully challenges a shot to her baseline that wasn’t called out. She clenches her fist and laughs for getting it right but she’s soon cursing in Czech as the top seed finds some big serves to get over the line.

BARTY 6-3 4-3 SINIAKOVA. That is sublime. Siniakova is working over time to stay in touch and edges the game from deuce with a corker of a backhand that completely bamboozles Barty.

BARTY 6-3 4-2 SINIAKOVA. Ash gets back on track with some excellent all-round play. A clever fake and forehand pass is followed by a big serve to put her firmly in charge. A fortunate net cord on a return nicks a point back for the Czech, but Barty quickly concludes the game with more of that trademark slice to force and error.

BARTY 6-3 3-2 SINIAKOVA. Is that a momentum shift or just a lull from Barty? Siniakova stays firmly in touch with a rampant love hold.

BREAK! - BARTY 6-3 3-1 SINIAKOVA. Lifeline? Siniakova won’t go down without a fight and hits back from 40-15 down with great hands for an angled volley at the net and a brilliant backhand pass. Barty fends off a break point but then fires a forehand wide when off balance to drop serve on the second.

The winner of this will meet French Open champion, Barbora Krejcikova in round four.

BREAK! - BARTY 6-3 3-0 SINIAKOVA. It’s all happening for Siniakova at the moment. She gets a telling off from the umpire when she lashes her racket at her trainer, with the official thinking it touched the grass. She makes 30-30 with a brilliant stun volley but then blazes a forehand wide to cough up break point from deuce. Barty doesn’t have to anything to secure the double break as the Czech implodes with a double fault.

BARTY 6-3 2-0 SINIAKOVA. Barty consolidates with a convincing love hold. She’s had some ups and downs at Wimbledon so far this year, but since the mid-point of Set 1 she’s really found an extra level.

BREAK! - BARTY 6-3 1-0 SINIAKOVA. This doesn’t look good for Kat. She battles hard to fend of two break points but Barty has found her groove off the forehand, probing deep into the corner. Another crunching winner off that flank makes it count on the third opportunity and the Aussie is off to a flyer in Set 2.

SET! - BARTY 6-3 SINIAKOVA. Like book ends, Barty starts and ends the set with a love hold. The Aussie concludes a close opener with a wide ace.

BARTY 5-3 SINIAKOVA. Katerina hits back from 15-30 to pose the serve-out question. Most of the crowd seem to be rooting for the Czech.

BARTY 5-2 SINIAKOVA. It’s far from routine but the top seed manages to consolidate from deuce. Barty just about survives a break point with an awkward forehand jab from mid-court before crunching an ace down the T. A slick forehand close to the right flank by the net claims the game and she’s one away from taking what has been a highly competitive opener.

BREAK! - BARTY 4-2 SINIAKOVA. That’s more like it from Barty. She plugs the leaks off her racket and teases a long error off the Siniakova forehand to snare break point. A killer, low slice then does for the Czech as she can’t get underneath the ball enough to get it back off the net.
