So Wawrinka has done all he can do, keeping his hopes alive of reaching the semi-finals with that win. But now he has to wait. It all comes down to whether Berdych can find a way past Nadal tonight.

WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 6-4 6-1 - GAME, SET & MATCH! Back-to-back double faults from Ferrer and then, two points later, a backhand volley into the net and Wawrinka has a match point... He only needs the one, thumping another backhand return down the line to secure the win.
-
WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 6-4 5-1 - Wawrinka makes a nervy start to the game as he drops the first point with a serve out wide that doesn't have enough to take it away from Ferrer. But the Swiss world number eight bounces back in impressive fashion, eventually sealing the game to 30 with a much better serve. Ferrer will have to serve to stay in the match next.

WAWRINKA 4-1 - BREAK! Wawrinka earns himself a break point to go a double break up in this and sure enough he does get himself the cushion. The Swiss player unleashes his favourite single-handed backhand return of serve down the line, Ferrer stumbling slightly as he looked to recover from the service motion. But there's no way he would have got there anyway. Wawrinka is the double break up.
-
WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 6-4 3-1 - Another booming serve from Wawrinka, an unreturnable serve, to seal a comfortable service hold once again. As long as he is only one break down though, Ferrer is still in this match.
-
WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 6-4 2-1 - Sensational effort from Ferrer to chase down a drop shot but he can't quite get there in time. Still, that is the only point he drops during the game and he is off the mark in this final set and just the one break down.
-
WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 6-4 2-0 - Wawrinka races another service game to consolidate the break. Ferrer's head is beginning to drop now, as much as it ever does with him, and Wawrinka is on his way to the win.

WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 6-4 1-0 - BREAK! A thumping forehand winner down the line followed by a double fault from Ferrer sees Wawrinka sneak ahead. Ferrer levels at 30-all but then puts a forehand well long and it's break point Wawrinka again. The Spaniard pulls across his body on a forehand approach shot, sending the ball wide to concede the break.

WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 6-4 - SET! A shout of "come on" from Wawrinka after taking the first two points with big serves. He's mindful of that first set slump, clearly. Ferrer chips his return back on the third though, racing up to the net to put away the easy follow-up volley before a forehand approach shot down the line draws a forehand into the net from Wawrinka. 30-30. A heavy body serve brings up set point for Wawrinka and sure enough he levels after a forehand error from Ferrer.
-
WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 5-4 - Ferrer races across the net and guides a forehand volley back across court on the angle for a winner before a forehand long from Wawrinka and a netted return helps Ferrer hold to put the pressure on the Swiss player. Wawrinka will serve for the set just as he did in the first set. Can he hold this time to take it?
-
WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 5-3 - Wawrinka holds on to his serve pretty comfortably again with a move up the court and a forehand winner. Ferrer will have to serve to stay in this second set now.
-
WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 4-3 - Ferrer slices a backhand drop shot attempt into the net but he was leading 40-15 and it is a simple move up to the net and a shoulder forehand volley down the line to seal his third game of the set.
-
WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 4-2 - Wawrinka holds from 30-all, bombing a 119mph unreturnable serve right down the T to move to two games away from levelling up this match.
-
WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 3-2 - Much better from Ferrer on serve as he holds for the loss of just the one point when Wawrinka pulls a forehand well wide across court.
-
WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 3-1 - Wawrinka races through a comfortable service hold to consolidate the break and get himself right back in this match. He was a break up in the first set though remember, 5-2 in fact, and still managed to let Ferrer back in.

WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 2-1 - BREAK! Ferrer is furious with himself as he puts a forehand long to hand Wawrinka a break point. The Spaniard is then left smashing his racquet on the ground when he nets a forehand on the very next point to concede the serve.
-
WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 1-1 - Wawrinka goes long with a forehand to gift Ferrer yet another break point. He levels at deuce with an ace out wide but he nets another forehand and Ferrer has another chance. But another ace from the Swiss player followed by an stunning one-handed backhand winner down the line and he has the hold.
-
WAWRINKA 6-7(3) 0-1 - Ferrer absolutely races through a love service hold to start this second set. He appears to have played himself into some energy, stunning considering this is his seventh straight week of tournament play.

WAWRINKA 6-7(3) - SET! Again it is phenomenal defence from Ferrer that keeps him in the point as he tracks outside the tramlines to run down a ball and puts a cross court forehand right on to the sidelines. Wawrinka puts his forehand response long down the line and Ferrer has the first set.

WAWRINKA 6-6 (3-6) - TIE-BREAK! Wawrinka, who has lost all three of his previous tie-breaks in London this week, sends an off-forehand wide across court to hand Ferrer three set points...
