GAME, SET AND MATCH KVITOVA! Kvitova books her spot in the semi-finals with a pretty conclusive victory over the world number one. Blows a couple of match points, but slams a backhand up the line to bring up the third match points. Gets the job done on the fourth match point. A superb performance from Kvitova, who is a deserving victor.

Wozniacki 30-0 down on her service game, but she does wonderfully well to dig herself out of a hole in closing to 2-5 behind. A fine effort in every sense by Dane, but surely the game will soon be up as Kvitova prepares to serve for the match.

Wozniacki wins the first point of the game, but normal service resumes seconds later as the world number one is made to look second best against an opponent who is content to ride roughshod over her. Kvitova is not sparing Wozniaki's feelings out there. Wozniacki serves to prolong the agony.

Wozniacki gets one game on the scoreboard, but this match is as good as over unless Kvitova gets injured or suffers a major collapse. The player going for the lines on the key points is the player winning the key points. Kvitova to serve holding two breaks, and all the aces.

Another game rolls by, another game falls in favour of Kvitova. This is more a thumping than a contest. Kvitova utterly dominant in this match. Has been wholly impressive by the young Czech player. The pace and direction of her groundstrokes too much for Wozniacki.

BREAK TO KVITOVA! Kvitova continues to cut an animated figure as she pumps her fist with some delight in nailing the vital points. The pressure is relentless from the Czech player as Wozniacki gives up the ghost on one point before heading for her chair for a rest. The double break, and this match is as good as over.

Kvitova continues to win the big points even when she takes something off the ball. A stunning winner down the line by the Czech player sees her move to advantage. Wonderful stuff really from Kvitova. Wozniacki knocks a return of serve wide of the target and there is the 2-0 lead for Kvitova, who is yelping in delight.

BREAK TO KVITOVA! Wozniacki with the trainer and the doctor on the court before serving at the outset of the second set. Not looking too good at the moment for her in all sorts of ways. Wozniacki forced to deuce before she sees a forehand on the run fly long. She wallops the net on the next shot and there is the break. Kvitova with 19 winners compared to three by Wozniacki. Says it all.

SET TO KVITOVA! A clubbing winner, what else, from the Czech player is good enough to sink Wozniacki's hopes of a recovery. Kvitova nails the set on the second set point. Difficult to see where Wozniacki goes from here. Kvitova well in control, and then some. A 1-0 lead.

Wozniacki showing her fighting qualities to remain within one game of Kvitova, but it is something of a minor miracle that she is still alive in this set having being generally outplayed and overpowered by the Czech player. Kvitova comes out to serve for the set and a 1-0 lead.

Wozniacki running into an express train in this match so far. Wozniacki knocks a ball long during a rally of some intensity. Kvitova challenges the call, and gets the decision. Winning all the big points in this match as she moves to within one game of this second set.

Kvitova brings up another break point with some stunning shots. A bruising experience at times for Wozniacki this, but she is gifted a point when Kvitova knocks a ball long before Wozniacki comes to the net to convert a winning volley. Kvitova mistimes a forehand that flies wide as Wozniacki keeps her cool to close to 4-3 behind.

Some shuddering shots from Kvitova leaves Wozniacki at the back of the court, on the back foot and really struggling to make any sort of inroads into her opponent's serve. An ace on the second serve is good enough to see Kvitova stretch out to a 4-2 lead. It was out, but Wozniacki didn't challenge. The Dane remains 4-2 behind and a break down.

Kvitova coming up with some brutal winners on anything left short. Hitting the ball with some intensity, but Wozniacki hangs in there to force the game to deuce with a couple of well-placed groundstrokes. She sees out the game to reduce her arrears to 2-3, but work still to be done to change the direction of this set.

Wozniacki claws her way back to 30-30 after Kvitova knocks a ball long from deep in the court, but the Czech player slams a brutal backhand winner beyond Wozniacki seconds later to move 40-30 to the good. An ace in the next point gives her the game. Kvitova leads 3-1.

A love service game from Wozniacki. A lot better from the world number one as she dictates the tone of the game with a better first serve percentage. Kvitova leads 2-1 with the break.

Kvitova holds to cement the break. All very assured from the Czech player in these opening seven minutes. Wozniacki yet to get into the match. Vital that she holds in her next service game.
