Good afternoon and welcome to LIVE coverage of the match between Li Na and Samantha Stosur on the final day of round-robin matches at the WTA Championships.

GAME, SET AND MATCH STOSUR! Stosur forced to save a couple of break point, but she quickly regroups to see out the match with some ease. Stosur into the last four for the second straight year. She will face Petra Kvitova in the last four on Saturday. Li Na heads home.

BREAK TO STOSUR! Three breaks ahead now. Almost like a snooker-hall silence in Istanbul. Difficult for the crowd to get involved in a match when one player is clearly so far ahead of the other. With an hour gone, Stosur will come out to serve for a place in the semi-finals.

A little chink of light for Li in that game, but it is quickly snuffed out by Stosur, whose use of top spin continues to present Li with no end of trouble. Now a 4-0 lead for the US Open champion, who is only two games short of a spot in the last four.

BREAK TO STOSUR! And there is the double break for the Aussie, who just continues to go further and further ahead. Li fighting to stave off another break of serve. She saves one, but is in all sorts of trouble again as Stosur moves to advantage with an exceptional driven forehand. A forehand on the run is quite magnificent by Stosur as she gets the job done on the third break point to head back to her chair with the double break in her locker.

Stosur cements the break with a love game. Li looking as if she is lacking in belief as well as the technique on these courts. Will take a comeback of epic proportions if she is going to deny Stosur a spot in the last four.

BREAK TO STOSUR! Li with only one winner to nine winners from Stosur. 15 unforced errors from Li to 11 by Stosur. The tide flowing firmly in the Australian player's favour as she bludgeons a ball down the line for a break early on in this set.

SET TO STOSUR! All going the Australian player's way. This looks more like a practice session rather than a competitive match. Stosur seems to on her way to the last four of this tournament unless Li can come up with something a bit better as the US Open champion holds to see out the set 6-1.

BREAK TO STOSUR! A quite superb length from Stosur in rallies is enough to help the Aussie player restore her advantage of two breaks. She continues to push Li back with some relish, and the Chinese player is not enjoying these moments. Stosur to serve for the set holding a 5-1 advantage.

BREAK TO LI NA! Stosur seems to be so much in control of this encounter, but she appears to take the eye off the ball for a few seconds that enables Li to retrieve one of the breaks. Stosur throwing in a few loose shots will maybe give Li Na some encouragement.

BREAK TO STOSUR! The errors continue to fly off the racket of Li, who is bleeding points and games. A poor backhand from Stosur enables Li Na to save one break point, but she faces another one seconds later after a forehand cracks off the net but fails to clear it. Li knocks a forehand long on the run, and suddenly it is 4-0 to the Aussie. The double break is in the bag.

Li looking very nervous while Stosur has come out with all guns blazing as another piercing groundstroke down the line carries her to 30-0 ahead. A double fault by Stosur and a poor shot that hits the net sees the score move to deuce. Stosur eventually gets the job done after a couple of indifferent shots.

BREAK TO STOSUR! Stosur breaks to love. Stosur suddenly with three break points as Li begins to misfire early in this set with a couple of shots missing their intended target. Stosur backs up Li with a crushing backhand and Li can only knock the ball tamely into the net. First blood to the Aussie.

Stosur knocks a forehand long in the opening point of the match, but is quick to regain a grip on the game with a couple of well-placed shots, including a first ace of the match. A booming forehand down the line sees her hold to 15. Impressive opening service game by the US Open winner.

Stosur has never lost to Li; she dropped her first set to Li in their most recent meeting at Cincinnati, one of three meetings this year. The winner of this match will finish second in the White Group and advance to the semi-finals. Your are either in or you are out. One of these two must go today.

Azarenka qualifies for the semi-finals as group winner; winner of Friday’s match between Li and Stosur will advance as second-placed qualifier. Winner takes all then between these two women.
