Dementieva raced back from a set down to knock out the 30-year-old veteran, who beat the Russian last week in Linz.
After dropping the first set, the fourth-seeded won 10 straight games to seal the game in a little less than two hours.
Dementieva will next face Russian compatriot Nadia Petrova for a place in the final.
The 6th seed struggled in both set to take the best of Martina Sucha 7-5 7-6(7-5). The Slovak made a critical unforced error at 5-5 in the tie break to give Petrova the lead and then the match on a winning serve.
Also on Friday, Czech rising star Nicole Vaidisova crushed American veteran Lisa Raymond 6-4 6-1 and will meet the winner of the night session match between twice defending champion Amelie Mauresmo and American Mashona Washington.
