Rallying's governing body stripped Peugeot's Marcus Gronholm of his victory in the Cyprus Rally and his lead in the world championship on technical grounds on Wednesday. According to the International Automobile Federation (FIA), the water pumps on Gronho

Gronholm and Finnish team mate Harri Rovanpera, who finished fifth in Cyprus, were both excluded from the results of the event, the FIA announced in a statement in Paris.
The Citroen of French runner-up Sebastien Loeb was found to conform to the rules, however. Loeb will take over the championship lead.
Peugeot were reminded of their right to appeal. The rally ended in Limassol on May 16.
