The Giallorossi icon’s contract expires at the end of the season and he appears unlikely to be offered a renewal as a player, meaning he could leave his boyhood club at the age of 39.
Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri reportedly called Totti about a move, while New York Cosmos are also believed to have made an approach.
Il Tempo reports today that two clubs in the United Arab Emirates, Al-Jazira and Al-Ahli, are ready to spend big money on bringing in the veteran.
Al-Jazira are showing a particular interest according to the report, and Totti would find his former teammate Mirko Vucinic there should he make the move.
However, there is also believed to be insistent interest from Japan, where clubs are considering a move for a player who is much-loved by the Japanese fans.
The newspaper says that Totti won’t make a definitive decision until he has a final meeting with Roma President James Pallotta in May.
There is only one way that the number 10 could stay at the club according to the report, which is if he was offered a one-year playing contract before being loaned out abroad and then returning as a director.
