WTCC line-up takes shape… and it rocks!
The driver line-up for this year’s FIA World Touring Car Championship is beginning to take shape with details of several deals confirmed and a host more due to be announced in the coming weeks.
So far, the drivers announced have amassed a total of 46 race wins, one outright WTCC title and two WTCC Trophy titles between them. Here’s a reminder of who they are:
Tom Chilton (pictured):Continues WTCC adventure with Sébastien Loeb Racing and experience of racing Citroën C-Elsysée for a full season will make him a strong contender for honours.
Rob Huff:WTCC champion in 2012, returns to ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport after three seasons away to race all-conquering Citroën C-Elsysée. No driver has started more WTCC races than the Briton.
Norbert Michelisz:Computer gamer turned top racer. Led Honda 1-2-3 on home soil in Japan last season. Second term as factory driver awaits the former two-time independent champion from Hungary.
Ryo Michigami:First Japanese driver to mount season-long WTCC campaign with a factory team. Hugely successful background racing in homeland with experience in single-seaters, touring cars and GT cars.
Tiago Monteiro:Double winner in WTCC 2016, including popular win in native Portugal, third in final standings, ex-Formula One podium finisher, driving for factory Honda team in 2017.
