Overshadowed by compatriots Francesco Friedrich and Nico Walther this World Cup season so far – the latter duo have split the first three World Cup wins of the four-man season.
But Lochner came into the race in front of his home crowd in Koenigssee as two-time defending European champion and was in impressive form from the outset.
His first run of 48.97 put him top of the pile at the halfway stage and while Friedrich and Latvia's Oskar Kibermanis both threw down the gauntlet in the second run, Lochner was not to be denied.

His second run of 48.77 seconds was the fastest of the day and secured an overall win by 0.18 seconds – Germany's 21st consecutive major international bobsleigh race win.
Lochner climbs to second in the four-man standings with the victory but Friedrich – who ended third on the day with Kibermanis second – stays top overall.
