Johannes Lochner holds the overall Bobsleigh World Cup lead ahead of Francesco Friedrich after the opening weekend in Yanqing. Lochner went unbeaten, winning today's four-man event after triumphing in the two-man race yesterday. He now leads the standings with 450 points, 40 points clear of Friedrich. Patrick Baumgartner is third in the leaderboard.
Johannes Lochner completed a brilliant bobsleigh weekend unbeaten after clinching the four-man gold medal at the IBSF World Cup opener.
The 2022 Olympic silver medallist won the two-man bobsleigh as well as both races in the four-man across a blistering weekend in Yanqing, China.
Lochner and his crew of Georg Fleischhauer, Joshua Tasche and Florian Bauer finished 0.31 seconds ahead of Italy's Patrick Baumgartner, with Olympic and world champion Francesco Friedrich of Germany a further 0.32 seconds back on Sunday.
Baumgartner's silver saw him become the first Italian to climb the four-man podium since December 2006, when Fabrizio Tosini finished third in Lake Placid.
Lochner, who won last season's Crystal Globe, sits on 450 points in the overall standings.
He is 40 points clear of countryman Friedrich, who finished second on Saturday, while Baumgartner holds third.
The World Cup action resumes on December 8 in La Plagne, France.
