Kiriasis eases to Gold

Sandra Kiriasis steered her Germany I sled to victory in the women's Olympic bobsleigh competition on Tuesday. Shauna Rohbock's United States I sled won the silver medal while the Italy I bob driven by Gerda Weissensteiner thrilled the home fans with the bronze.

A silver medallist when women's bobsleigh made its Winter Games debut four years ago in Salt Lake City, the 31-year-old Kiriasis mastered the tricky Cesana track for a comfortable win.

Shauna Rohbock's United States I sled won the silver medal while the Italy I bob driven by Gerda Weissensteiner thrilled the home fans with the bronze.

Bobsleigh's superpower, Germany had won gold already in the two-man on Sunday courtesy of Andre Lange and could complete a hat trick of titles in the Feb. 24-25 four-man event, which Lange will start as favourite.
