Switzerland's Michael Vogt and Sandro Michel overhauled German rivals to win their first-ever 2-man Bobsleigh World Cup gold.
The pair racked up two silvers and three bronze medals last term and finished third at this season's opener at Yanqing.
But Vogt and Michel were finally able to take the final step to the top of the World Cup podium at the French resort of La Plagne.
They overcame a 0.03-second differential from the first run to take the win in a total time of 1 minute 58.51 seconds.
It was all the more impressive given they restricted Germany's Johannes Lochner and Georg Fleischhauer, fastest in the first run, to silver with Francesco Friedrich and Thorsten Margis bringing back bronze.
Meanwhile, USA's Kaysha Love claimed an impressive victory on driving debut in the women's monobob event.
Love, who was pilot to Kaillie Humphries last season in the 2-woman discipline, charged from fifth to first to take gold in a time of 2 minutes 7.92 seconds.
